Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoilers] DZ'CH is apparently a catchy name

Who are Dreylin's other neighbors? Are they super low on power and easy pickings? If so we might have to attack them before they eat everyone and become unstoppable, unless we can eat REM really quickly and compete that way.

Yeah, we need to go as quickly as possible and take some risks if we want to get back into this game. I'd say attack unless we see more defenders in Percy.

What other spots are there across the channel, and how many settlers do we have available? I'm wondering if it might not be worth it to squeeze multiple cities into that space, if you think we can defend all of them.

Hey guys, quick update.

I decided to hold off a turn on attacking REM's Percy for two reasons:

1. I'll be landing a Spy inside the city hill next turn to get full view of the surrounding area
2. I added our Machine Gun to the stack to defend our attackers.

I also whipped/chopped a Frigate in Staalplaat which should also yield a Galleon a couple turns after. This way we may be able to sail in grab some undefended cities (REM had a few of them in the west). BGN's city of Panama Papers becomes an opportunity as well.

What is good and bad about our situation? REM just entered his Golden Age this turn -- the good part here is that he went domestic and does not have Slavery as one of his current civics. I still think we go one city and out and refocus on defending against Khmer, but we'll see.

Dreylin has:

Us to his south
scooter/sulla to his north (undeveloped isthmus between them)
BGN to his west (OB agreement)
Gaspar to his east
REM to Gaspar's east scared

Gaspar has 3 cities left, from the standard capital location to just shy of the Fish/Corn site (aka the Bombay/Sector 19 region). After that, Dreylin can move in on a distracted REM if he so chooses.

Dreylin did offer us a Silks trade after our last peace, which I accepted, leading me to believe that we may be okay on this front in the short term. Still overly protective of Zoth though, especially with the grand unveiling ceremony happening there later today.

I'd like to get two cities onto the island we share with Dreylin/OT4E, yielding the other two spots to them. I'll try to get you a map plan soon.

As far as Settlers go, we have the one ready to plant on the island during the upcoming turn, bring us to 6 cities. Once Zoth has IW up and running, we should be able to alternate Settlers between it and Wax Trax due to the high value of the whips (67 per pop for Zoth and 52 per pop for Trax). I want Zoth to be a powerhouse militarily so whips will be less frequent here due to the amount of production it can provide as it grows larger. Trax on the other hand has awesome recovery, gaining a pop point per turn and already back at Size 9.

Settler focus? I would say:

Deer site north of Wax Trax, then

Other Dreylin island site, then

2 mainland cities west of Glitch Mode, then

Island between us and BGN

REM island is also a possibility...just depends on how things go over the next few turns. We also have to balance out this wish list with our new toy ---Drydocks!

I'll try to get you some maps for these plans soon.

There's also that Stone island north of our mainland, which we are at risk of losing to Dreylin's culture. A city plant by them here would give them multiple attack options. Same for if they decided to troll the Deer site, which is why that is first in queue.

Any updates? Did you ever attack REM? Did Dreylin gobble us up? Have the turns stalled out?

Hello? Is this a "I'm too busy" lull in reporting, or a "we're being invaded and it sucks" lull? I'm guessing the latter, based on our position in last and all the action in Dreylin's/the lurker thread (though that might be related to the recent death--I haven't been paying close enough attention to CivStats to know who we're warring with, or who eliminated Gaspar/Noble). At the very least, can a lurker let me know if there's a turn split I should be observing if I log in just to dump some pictures in the thread?

No turn split.
