By the way, if you want reassurance Coeurva can't have Animal Husbandry:
He completed what must have been The Wheel on t37. He finished another tech on t45. He gained only +1000 power that turn, and that for being credited with gaining an even-numbered pop point. So the only way that can be Animal Husbandry is if he happened to lose a warrior the same turn. And I don't think he could have finished AH in only 8 turns -- there's no indication his cities have a lot of commerce.
The only tech he's researched since absolutely must be Writing, because the option to trade maps became available that turn.
Also to consider: my read on CML is that he does not have Animal Husbandry. Coeurva can attack him with nothing but axes and be surer than we are that his axes won't get hit by chariots. He probably at least strongly suspects we actually do have Animal Husbandry.

we can deal with axes. they'll take forever to march in, so no emergency military build is needed, imo.

Okay, I figured that, but I wanted to run that by you first.
I do want to get a couple of chariots as zone defense fairly soon, I think; they don't need to be instant, yeah. I think I can have Castle Ironfist 2-pop whip the settler next turn, overflow into completing a barracks as originally intended (well ... I can MM it to complete 1t afterwards, but close may be good enough), and then slow-build a chariot since Castle Ironfist will need to grow further anyway.
... come to think of it, I'm not sure Coeurva's units are actually meant to be an attack, since there's a very good chance CML's power is spiking for no other reason than needing to protect against impis. On the other hand, Coeurva should realize that.
That's also significant production going into military that I thought would be going into libraries. What did he research Writing this early for? (He does have the RtR-Charismatic +35% bonus to libraries.) And these axes aren't the result of 2-pop whips; Coeurva didn't whip anything on t59.

I didn't notice last turn, but GermanJoey started to put his full 4 EP into us then.
I suppose scouting everywhere and making so many contacts means everyone new we meet is going to think "oh, look, another person to get graphs on". How much of a concern is this? I do think we want to get contact with JR4 (or, rather, we need to scout a path to a coastal city of his, which will make contact anyway) just for more chances for free religion spread, but the last two contacts can wait, I think, partly for that reason.

It's not a concern at all. What harm does someone far away as GJ putting EP into us do?

Small note. You cant make pasture without having to chop those....

Someone like dtay would matter little, but GermanJoey is actually our neighbor by water, close enough that I can maneuver Sandro north and then west, and if I can actually get him through he can actually do some settling scouting.

Oh, thank you, I didn't realize pastures worked like farms/mines and not like camps. Oh well.

Turn 61 (1560 BC) - Part 3
Gavagai moved an archer on the border, to defend a couple workers, so yeah, he has Archery:
The silver mine will be done next turn. Note that Gavagai has vision on all four of our forests at Castleview, so he'll be able to see us chopping the forests once that begins.
It's not going to happen soon, but we should give some thought on if/where to plant cities on the frontier with Coeurva:
I don't think he'd plant in the area where his warrior is soon because that would actually be an aggressive settlement. I'm rethinking not settling the land south of Harmondale; that's a bad site but I think Coeurva will eventually take it if we don't.

Turn 61 (1560 BC) - Part 4 (C&D)
Score tally: - CML: +3 points for +1 pop; -3 points for a -1 pop whip this turn (11 pop total). Yes, that happened last turn too.
- Coeurva: +3 points for +1 pop; -3 points for a -1 pop whip this turn; +3 points for planting his 6th city that claims 5 new land tiles (14 pop total). No one else currently has 5 cities; Imperialistic being Imperialistic. I suppose Writing is his way of fighting rising expansion costs.
- dtay: +5 points for +2 pop (10 pop total).
- Gavagai: +5 points for +1 pop in Edirne and +1 pop in Ankara (15 pop total, now the highest pop).
- JR4: +2 points for +1 pop (13 pop total).
Also, we just got 11 points for holding the first-ring tiles of Castleview for 20 turns, which pushed us up the scoreboard.
No one got a new technology this turn.
The power report is in part 2. Ventessel has to be starting his war with Krill soon; he's running out of population to whip!
I haven't listed people's city names in full anywhere, here they are:
Us (Might & Magic):
- Castle Ironfist
- Harmondale
- Castleview
- Sorpigal
Coeurva (not sure, trying to look this up results in his spoiler thread; any lurker know?):
- Cowish Rhapsody
- Dragonish Sicil
- Shag Vermin
- Lifeblood
- Ignis Fatuus
- Whitehall
Gavagai (boring default Ottoman names);
- Istanbul
- Edirne
- Ankara
- Bursa
Krill (Orwell to begin with; I'm not sure what 12 Monkeys exactly has in common):
- Animal Farm
- Room 101
- Wigan Pier
- 12 Monkeys
Ventessel (Alaska):
- Anchorage
- Juneau
GermanJoey (A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality):
- State of Yue
- Seven Mysteries
- State of Zijin
- Heavenly Fist

No circumnavigation is disappointing.
Where to plant down south depends precisely on where his city is. If it's 1W of pigs, we should plant 1S of copper to share corn/silver.
Quote: GermanJoey is actually our neighbor by water
Any plans to put EPs on him?
