I will do that, so I can take a peek when the turns happen, thank you for the suggestion.

When building the mine for 1 t, you give the worker that task and abort it directly after, is that correct?

Reply

Yes absolutely, just press "cancel" when you know you don't want to keep doing the job next turn. That's the best part of fast workers. You almost never "lose" a worker turn when moving, you can almost always use it to do something on the way. On the way to the cow I'll put another turn on the mine, then go SE-E and start pasturing. No turn lost once again

We have horses... On the other side of the sea

That is probably a reason to go for the hose, pig shared fish site first as an oversea city?

You already marked the spot with a 3, is it better to settle on a PH than to mine it later on and use it for more production?

Reply

Yes it's better to settle on a PH because it means getting a 2/2/1 city center instead of a 2/1/1.

So the trade of is for settling on the plains hill instead of settling and mining it later to a 0/4/0 tile

Building a workshop on a plain gives you a 0/4/0 if you have guilds and are in caste system so the hill isn't that great

Sorry for the reporting hiatus, I was at a friend's house for a week.

Things are going reasonably well in India, with a second city out and some good tiles uncovered.

As you can see the numbers have changed a little. Considering how good the city sites beyond our island are I think it's best to go there ASAP.

No worries, I was extremely busy myself as you can see from the PBEM3 thread, I will try to update it today but we have a 2 weeks break ahead ther due to Rowains vacation.

Getting back to this game, the copper site is that important based on the copper but we do not know a lot about it yet. As I am wondering for the decision making about city placement, can we theorize here a bit?

I know that the freshwater access at the copper site provides +2 health for the city so allows for skipping an aquaeduct or building it later.
Which reasons would be sufficient for you to consider not settling on the river but two tiles N, so if you could wish for the layout there?

This time I remembered to put the resource icons up. As you can see we already have copper at the cap. The reason I want to settle that city is that it has furs for happiness and it has land (probably) to its west making it better than the 1-tile islands with mostly water around them.
