I don't think Singaboy is gonna make them wait for the patch (that might bail him out). So Germany is dead. I think Archduke got a big edge from diplo by making Germany give up sooner and not much else would have change. Woden and CFCJF would still just be sucking their thumbs and oledavy would still get the Venetian Arsenal.

Well it looks like he'll just make them wait for the patch. I underestimated his fighting spirit. I predict the game being dropped if the patch doesn't fix the problem due to having to replay ten turns and Firaxis's incompetence being too painful.

Unfortunately I think this may be buried too deep in the code to be currently addressable via a mod. 

I do wonder, though, if someone with Firetuner/Lua skills could figure out how to clear the occupied status manually.

We should start up a thread so we can discuss suggestions. I have quite a few ideas myself. If we all agree on the fixes we don't risk splitting the community into mod and non-mod people, there are few enough civ 6 players as is...

I don't think Firetuner works on multiplayer games. I tried using that first to make minor map edits before trying to get the map editor to work, and I could get Firetuner to work on single player games but not multiplayer. Then again I don't know Lua so maybe I was just using it wrong.

FYI the patch fixed the problem so the game will go one with a replay of turns because of that dumb Viking city .

I predict ether oledavy or Archduke will win and Woden will stomp CFCJF for an easy "strong second". I feel if that happens that the island-plates set-up overpowered the gunboat diplomacy for this game.
