I'm curious to see what the EP graph looks like now, apart from just where we place at the moment. (No need to show it every turn though.)
So with an Engineer in hand and Gunpowder due EoT167, if we want to do something with Frigates other than just defend, we should make an actual plan. I would estimate that without using the Engineer, we could have Chem EoT175 on a straight beeline. If we bulb into it with the Engineer, I'd guesstimate we can get it EOT172. In the meantime, we would need more Cats, more Knights, several Galleons, some Trireme prebuilds, and (starting T168) as many Muskets as we can muster. And meanwhile, if we want to commit to an attack, we have to first secure our own borders. It's possible that will be doable with well-timed fish-for-fish offers, or it's possible it will be doable by building enough units to defend and attack simultaneously, or it's possible it will not be doable at all. My guess is, either it's the last one and we're going to see units flooding across our borders soon, or it'll be some combination.
Finally, note when I say we need a plan, I'm not referring to a microplan, or at least not one made by me. I don't foresee having time to create anything remotely comprehensive anytime in the reasonable future. The main thing is to make sure our units (including our ships) are well-positioned to participate in the upcoming attack (if any) on the turn when it is launched, and on each turn until then, positioned to make this possible while maximizing flexibility.
The world is at peace again! Krill and chumchu finally signed peace. Also, dtay finished the Taj Mahal so he`s in a Golden Age. Nothing surprising there. Oh, and we got a third open border deal offer from Joey. I declined, as I think we have agreed that giving him free access to our territory beyond the frontline would be a bad idea.. Frankly, I`d rather have a fish-for-fish deal to signal non-aggression.
Note that a Greek fleet could pass through Heavenvoid Hall (SW of Oghul Qaimish) and land a stack next to our city on t0 of the war. We continue the military buildup, a lot of our cities are making units right now. Borte and Muqa are building Knights. Our first Galleon on the eastern sea finishes eot (in Kokejin) as we really need to have at least one fast mover ship in case of emergency. A lot of the other players finished techs this turn, Dark Savant probably managed to squeeze out Astronomy. That`s not very good news for our attack plans but let`s keep the option on the table. FWIW I`m in favor of taking a gamble to take Mist and Tulearean Forest. CG2, C1 Muskets will be hard to attack so hopefully he won`t be in time to get too many of those until we launch the attack.
Gavagai`s Caravel near D-mishi spotted all of our ships there. I don`t think we can do much about it. At least our ships are not positioned threateningly.
Graphs and demos: Chumchu took a big hit it seems so that`s maybe part of the reason why he and Krill signed peace. Krill took basically all the island cities between Carthage and the Incan Empire so he`s clearly in a stronger position now than say 20 turns ago. This game is very exciting right now! I think 4 players have a legitimate shot at winning PB37.
Also, note that dtay`s crop yield nearly caught up with Joey`s. He`s surely looking to consolidate now in his "free" Golden Age.
Here`s the espionage graph. As you can see, Joey is miles ahead of the rest. Gavagai is catching up with us but no one else has a lot of Courthouses it seems. Dtay in particular has had other priorities..
Also, we have 2 cities on the list of the 5 Greatest cities in the world! Muqa is right behind as it`s been on and off the list for a while.

I don't know ... given that he can build spies and we can't, it might be better to accept open borders with him at this point. On the other hand, one sentry chariot can see a lot more of our military preparations than even a half dozen spies, and those spies would be expensive and periodically need replacing. (How much would we gain out of Open Borders economically?)

Do we have (or could we build) a spare Caravel to watch for a fleet in that area? They don't need OB to scout around in other people's territory, and that would give us some extra warning if he were planning anything.

Definitely harder targets than longbows and pikes, yeah. If we control the seas with Frigates, can trust our land (and Gav) borders to be safe, and send an adequate stack of Cats, Knights, and Muskets though, those cities will go down more easily than you might think!
Hmmm, probably too late for this, but I would also whip the Monastery in Oghul Qaimish (losing a coast tile to get a huge amount of overflow for its next build) and move at least one of our Western Galleons across toward the Eastern sea. (I think; I can see the one you've stationed to help Daliyetimishi, Oghul Qaimish, and Daliyetimishi to reinforce one another in an emergency, but I know we have at least one more, and I'm not sure where it is or how long it would take to reach the east.)
Krill is soon going to get vision on what I think is the biggest city of the world, Nambui! Maybe we should send out a scouting party to our friends to find out more about what`s going on in the world. Dtay is in Pacifism/Mercantilism now so he can make quite a few Great People in his Golden Age. Actually, it looks like Krill ate a turn of revolt to go into Mercantilism himself. He`s not in a Golden Age as far as I can see.
Our second Galleon on the western sea is W of Danashri. It can get to one of the stage tiles near Dark Savant in 4 turns. I decided to keep it near Gavagai for the time being as he`s up to something. Gavagai`s power is growing at an alarming rate. A Caravel was started in D-mishi and will probably be whipped next turn. Keeping a close eye on Joey`s attack path is surely a good idea! Hilariously, Joey now has Open Borders with everyone in this game, except us. I think we should avoid giving him OB now but reevaluate after a while.
Dark Savant is right behind us in tech, now showing 3 turns to Gunpowder (150 gold in the bank). So, our opening won`t last long anyhow. If Gavagai attacks him then we have a much better chance of success.
I was too late to whip the Monastery in Oghul Qaimish but it got a Workshop this turn and will finish the Temple in 2 turns with a lot of overflow. The disputed tile where Joey`s Chariot is (didn`t take a screenshot of it but think I did last turn) is soon flipping to us! It now shows 49-50 to him. Also, note that we`re not keeping the tile where our Sentry Keshik stands (SW of Oghul Qaimish) forever as there are 2 Greek cities putting culture on that tile. We have 55 % culture there, slowly declining.
Graphs and demos: We pretty much have exactly the average military right now.
Somehow, Gavagai and dtay signed Open Borders so I guess there isn`t that much animosity between them.. A Zulu Galleon was spotted by our Caravel on the western sea in Ottoman territory.
Hmm, Dark Savant and Joey signing Open Borders is.. not good news for us. How strongly do you feel about giving Joey OBs? From Gavagai we got approximately 25 commerce when we signed the OB deal. Until now we`ve played pretty conservatively, doing what we can to limit the tech gap between us and our two land neighbors. Joey is surely delighted that basically everyone is giving him OBs, filing his Great Lighthouse trade routes...

I don't feel especially strongly either way, to be honest. There are arguments for and against, and I don't find either one overwhelmingly compelling. I do find it amusing that if we give him OB, he'll have 'em with literally every player in the game. Maybe we should offer the deal for that reason alone!
