[SPOILERS] Bacchus and Archduke serve a mouthful of Pecorino Romano

So yeah, between the dislocation bug and Ichabod having a couple of slingers right on the theatre, the siege degenerated into a hideous stalemate. And we missed the requisite amount of gold necessary for upgrades by 1 turn. Still, about to have two horses and a legion on the theatre, which should be enough not just to take, but also to hold Carthage. Two economic leaders slugging it out is good for the field, judging by the stats mostly for Krill. Albeit he has also built a ridiculously sized military.

I should also say, I am about to start a new job, so this entire thing will likely need handing over at some point around the 28th of May.

Well, with an upgrade and the 2nd horseman Carthage looks doable.

Ichabod appears with a scout, thankfully the horse is about to complete just in time to kill it.

Legion upgraded. Carthage is spamming an ungodly amount of units. I delete an Archer, but there is another Archer, and two warriors. The horse that healed up is back on the theatre, it will get damaged up a bit, but it has a promo to heal in place. In good news, if Ichabod is overly saucy with his slingers, one of them will get killed by a legion next turn.

Ichabod has also claimed a Great General, either through faith or a project.

So any progress on Carthage?

Here is the save at start of turn. Tricky situation. After movement, and hitting Carthage with the Archer and the Horseman, we can take it next turn with a hit from the Archer, the Legion and the Warrior. The problem is that Ichabod has an entire army camped outside of Carthage and Civ 6 is bullshit, so he could immediately recapture. And there is nothing at all we can do! We can't even sign peace because of the ten turn cooloff. So our armies just have to stay there staring at each other until the end of time. There is even a river, to really favour a stalemate.

I would not be that worried. Take the city with the horseman, its strength should be boosted enough.

What other option do you have by now?

It's not pretty

The advantage actually isn't that great -- I have another horse en route, so it's 3v3 on classical units, but that's a lot of ranged support. We'll see what happens. At least he can't attack the city this turn.

Basically, as soon as Rowain's army heals up, he has to take it south, and we have to put Ichabod into a 2v1.
