So, I had a long and hard look at my options.

I have a science lead, a UU around the corner, a valid casus belli against England (he did attack me), a DoFed flank for 29 more turns.

So I either play the infrastructure game which others are better at. Or I conquer England. So what do I need.

Feudalism builders for crab harvests, some more quads for upgrades, 3 chariots into knights for land attack support.

England is small enough for a timely conquest, the only thing I need is defensive walls on my main island, I can sacrifice former Hattusa is push comes to shove with Chev.

   

I think I can reach most english cities good enough with range 2. Let´s hope every city in the west is on the water.

   

Mercenaries will be needed for the fleet upgrade.

   

Or I could switch gears and chop settlers out. But where is the fun in that? hammer 

So, Emperor K, ready or not, here I come in 9 turns you will get no DoF extension, then the jig is up.

So after 7 turns of preparations which meant mainly chopping out some chariots soon to be knights for inland landings and defensive purposes, Emperor K signs another DoF. Which means the whole fleet turns around. I will add 5 more quadriremes before Square Rigging and strike with about 10 caravels, 10 zeven provinces and about 8 knights. At the very least I should do some damage.

   

Reasoning.

Chev is by more ahead then all the other guys and me.

Emperor K has a GA and will hopefully waste the next 30 turns not attacking Japper like he should do since forever.

A final push of quads, delaying the upgrades by 2 turns. Hopefully the waste of time is justified, but I need to move my troops anyway.

   

On second thought and look, what am I talking about. Chev has 17 more turns to prepare.

Which means I should do a second round of quads if I can.tongue

I forgot that Chev delayed the DoF so far. Which means we can leisurely prepare for the war. Also means that Emperor K could stab me 10 turns into the war. Hmm, this is not good. Damn those sea maps, I am too vulnerable on both sides.

13 galleys, 11 quads atm, 5 more incoming.

7 knights as support. 2400 in the bank. Chev has 10 more turns to prepare then the fireworks begin. The question is what token force if at all stay in the west.

   

In some way, this map does not support war. You can easily slide into a 2 front war.
