Well that's straightforward enough. BEAR, OCTOPUS, and DOG, right?

EDIT: For a little more reasoning after reading superdeath's spoiler, these three are what immediately stand out as Animal words. At least personally, BUCK and CHICK, while they can be descriptions of animals, are far less strong of an association than the common species names.

Pretty sure that's DOG/BEAR/OCTOPUS. CHICK as an outside possilibity.

After reading spoilers:
Didn't see BUCK, but we should leave that for blue team.
CHICK has a weaker connection to Animal than the others, as El Grillo says.
Our clue could have more clearly pointed to CHICK and away from OCTOPUS (i.e Legs 3), but doesn't.

I also thought of DOG, OCTOPUS, BEAR. So since OCTOPUS is the only one we have doubt on

A KID is the child of a goat (or, in slang, a human)
A CHICK is the child of a bird

Other, much more remote possibilities:
A child often goes to see the pediatrician for a SHOT
A child might wear a CAP or a HOOD

But I would need to hear a very good argument against KID and CHICK

After sleeping on it, I'm leaning away from CHICK. Child seems aimed more at a human interpretation, as opposed to, say, Baby or Offspring. I'm now in favor of KID and SHOT.

Kid is the obvious first choice. Chick seems like the other one as an animal child. I don't see anything else that's remotely compelling, so those two seem like the easy favorites.
