Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

(spoilers) Superdeath's ERB's of Civ history!

I like all those potential leaders. I can agree on civ first. I believe that HRE would be the STRONGER pick, due to well.. Rathaus. its going to start rather slow... Sumeria was partly thought of because of their excellent starting techs of Wheel + Agriculture.

Ill let you decide between those two as we are guaranteed to get ONE of those two civs. Then we can see what kinda leader gets left for us.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. Sumeria has some anti-synergy reducing the benefit from fast courthouses. HRE could be clutch with Byzantine/Mongolia/Khmer already picked.

I still value Financial highly, could consider Fin/Org and Fin/Pro if Org/Pro gets taken.

Scooter pushed us into needing to pick.. so i went with your suggested HRE.

All three leaders still available. I'm guessing we're at least going with Organized since HRE is locked in. Fin or Pro with it?

I would rate Fin much higher than Pro personally. But you should go with whatever you want to play the most smile

Here's my pick tier list. I didn't pay much attention to starting techs until after my analysis, because I haven't simmed the start to figure out if lack of some techs will slow down the start. I did notice though that Mysticism was very popular. Fishing too which makes me think everyone got similar starts, though you can create WB's without Fishing in the mod. You still need Fishing to work the tile, but you can start building a WB from T0. New Pro got nerfed after PB52 and gets no love here from the players. It's still way better than vanilla Pro though!

Tier 1

Miguelito - Justinian of the Byzantine (Spi/Imp)
Cataphracts are great and Imp gives faster Stables and GG's for the conquering. Spi I assume is for swapping to XP civics and out.

El Grillo - Charlemagne of Khmer (Imp/Pro)

Charles has a nice combo with the changes. More cities, more trade routes! Khmer gets unnerfed WE's with no resources needed, and Imp gives faster Stables to get them XP.

Vanrober - Cyrus of Mongolia (Imp/Chr)
Imp gives faster Ger's and GG's. Chr gets early border pops and happiness from cheap monuments. All in early game rush combo. Good synergy.

superdeath - Darius of HRE (Org/Fin)
Eco traits and defensive UU, cheap Rathauses, lesser maintenance costs. More space we have, the better the pick becomes. Must survive early game pressure.

Tier 2

MrCairo - Ragnar of England (Agg/Fin)
Get to Redcoats (rifles) and draft/whip them. Seems like a solid plan.

Ruff-Hi - Hannibal of Japan (Fin/Chr)
One of the best leaders. Japan with the new UB is OK. Some synergy with +2 XP and faster promos from CHR.

Elkad - Washington of Maya (Exp/Chr)
I think Exp is bad in the mod unless you have some specific reason to grab it. I think the plan here is large cities by raising health and happy caps. Could be good if the map is rich. Chr is solid and gets faster Ball Courts too. Holkans can come in clutch against the mounted UU's picked.

Mjmd - Victoria of India (Fin/Imp)
Not much synergy here, but solid choices by themselves. FW are nerfed but still worth the extra cost.

Tier 3

scooter - Gandhi of Korea (Spi/Phi)
A definite pro player pick with Gandhi's traits. Not an easy one to master. Korea seems an odd choice, maybe a play for religion? Hwacha's are good but I'm sure there was better Civs available if that was the only reason. I expect Scooter to show me the strength of this pick. I had it on Tier 2 originally, but dropped it to Tier 3, because if I had to choose from these combos I wouldn't take it before the ones in Tier 2.

Naufragar- Augustus of Spain (Ind/Imp)
I expected Pro after the Spain pick. I don't really know why he picked what he did. Seems weak. The only Ind pick in the game though, so that helps.

giraflorens - Pericles of Russia (Cre/Phi)
Not too confident on this pick. It's a bit all over. Cre only really good for early game border pops. Buffed Phi is nice, but why not get a supporting trait like Ind for Pyramids and/or MoM? Russia's UB/UU probably won't come into play before the game's already over.

All war elephants and their UU still need resources, it's just a relaxed iron or ivory

Ah yes I mispoke. Specifically doesn't need ivory, can use iron instead. Which is imo a big deal. Every zone usually has iron in the games I've played, but ivory is more rare.

Hope you enjoyed the analysis smile
