Two games in a row now I have very seriously considered Exp/Phi America, and just barely went a different direction. I'm sad nobody has tried it yet. So you should definitely do it. nod

Me too. If you have any questions regarding their new UB, just fire away. Some obvious questions:

1. The +3 GPP are type-less. Meaning If for example you work a scientist and have the UB you generate 6 GPP, three of them for sientist. When you hit the threshold you will generate a Great Scientist 100%.
2. If you hit the threshold with only type-less points you generate a Great Person at random.

Sounds like you want me to guinea pig this one since no one else is doing it.  neenerneener

I'll have to think on it

No, don't want to force it on you. Just wanted to explain those things as they were misunderstood in the past.

If turn order is bob first then super death then me I don’t think religion chasing is completely off the table. But I’m not sure I’m going to risk it and build the whole strategy around it

So if I want to play with America, I have to use PHI I think, I don't think the new UB bonus is any good otherwise. It just doesn't do enough to offset other stuff. So if you choose PHI you have to have a plan and you have to be very specific, because PHI is not a low maintenance trait. It's basically like you plan or you're not getting anything out of it. What does this mean? This means I have to get MoM. This means my game is necessarily make or break mid-late game.

I'll be honest, I'm a much better early game player than late game. And I've never really played PHI or played PHI correctly. Except in PB6, but it doesn't really count since I wasn't technically in charge of the PHI civ. I mean I have really really hated PHI basically always. It's so finicky. Should I try to do it here? I'm going to actually have to have a plan...

Can this be done? Here's one idea. You get an Immigration Station, You tech the newly cheap Metal Casting, You build a forge, You tech Calendar, You rush build the MoM with a GE... This could be EXP/PHI or IND/PHI. Do you grab stonehenge for culture? If you don't get Stonehenge how  Do we play with Oracle to get Calendar? Both of those seem more like they need IND. Does that make EXP the less good choice? Is cheap harbor worth it in this scenario? I guess you still get granaries, but you don't get a cheaper worker. If it still had cheaper worker then EXP/PHI would be the easier call.

So if your goal is MoM and chaining GAs how do we win? We don't go aggressive early game, or mid game. We go for the new musket UU of America? are we drafting or producing?

Right so I just refreshed my memory of tech, and harbors don't get teched until compass. Calendar is cheaper than compass. Rushing MoM with a an immigration station infused forge is a nonstarter.

Man this is a really thin, fragile blade of an idea.
