There's a 3 hammer tile in the first settling square, so it'll be easy to use it for IMP. Add the deer, the 1/2 forest and 2 hammer plains hill SIP and that gives 2+2+1+3=8 hammers base which means amazing Settler production speed, right? My dodo tier gameplay let me set this up at turn 23 with 6 turn to complete a Settler with fish+deer improved and wheat starting and a warrior present.
Remember that MC cost is cheaper in CtH, so these cheaper forges should come in a lot quicker if you decide to go for it. I don't think that Stables selling point should be Conquistadors but HA and Knights that come in a lot earlier. Even the potential of having these might be a deterrent for enemies (stables inflating power graph anyone?)
Yeah, I'm not happy about my past behaviour either.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes those are all good reasons for IMP. The IND thing is interesting too, I really want to get Oracle for three reasons.
1) To use it for myself (CoL, or something maybe even currency)
2) Prophet
3) DENY NoGas tech help on the way to phracts!
So this means IND would actually be very good if I'm the only IND...
Is this narrowing it down or widening my thoughts?

In my sandbox the Ai beat me to Buddhism. I probably shouldn't have stuck all of them on 1 tile islands in the ocean where they can only work commerce.
On the plus side, I won a domination victory on T20.

In the end I got Charlemagne which I think is good. I hope I am able to leverage it and still go religion first. I think it really depends on if Bob goes religion first and which one he picks. Should I go Buddhism or Hindu? ugh This is a different type of game for me. Usually I like ignoring early religion entirely.

So since Monday I have been having internet problems. The internet went down and cam back up up on Monday but it was so slow it was slower than dial up. We were getting between 50-20kbs download. I can sort of browse realms beyond by waiting a minute but very little else. I figure there is some issue with the ISP that needs to be resolved, I wait a day. Tuesday its the same. I call Verizon, go through 4 hours of Indian tech support and they send me a new DSL modem. Next day it arrives, same issue. I think, maybe its the phone line. We call Verizon phone line repair (based locally rather than tech support in India). The schedule a tech for Thursday. Guy comes says the phone line hum and crackle is normal for our shitty telephone box down at the end of the lane. Instead he says, yeah on Monday there was a server issue and outage in Baltimore and they thought they fixed it, but he's been dealing with calls the same as mine and obviously they haven't. He does some things calls them, it doesn't work and says he'll run it up and hope they realize the error. He then tells a depressing story about Verizon having issues like this that they just don't fix and people just switch providers. He leaves calls back and asks if what they just did changed anything? No. Then late in the evening it starts working. They fixed it. Huzzah. But now I have to repair the home network because all I had done before was replace the modem and had the local wifi up while troubleshooting. So I try to get the modem and the mesh working together again and I can't. I do a shit ton of reading and go through 2 modem settings and I finally get it working just now. And so ends one of the most frustrating weeks. And I was still able to slowly play WW somehow. Thank you RB for having a very low web impact. I couldn't get into any email or reddit or tons of other sites because it was too hard to load. I couldn't even download The CtH bug update. Anyway that's my ramble.
