Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Mjmd #52 no players] Working on the Homestead

Yeah sorry, I remember you mentioning him having researched it, but I didn't read back for the details. I'll log in and note the numbers in a turn or two and I can explain to you how it works. It's fairly straightforward, except for one detail which might be obvious to everyone else, but tripped me up and cost me the Mausoleum to Ramk in PB51.

Got peace. I don't have nearly as many cities I want to draft as I thought I did sadly? Anyways infrastructure builds while I'm in organized for a sec. Didn't finish double turn due to time (swear).

Edit: even forgot got mention both northern spies got caught!! I was even purposefully moving them out of his territory during peace. GRRRRR.

Ah, Charriu removed the "Sabotage Production" mission from CtH, which is how checking production-in-progress worked in vanilla BtS. Sorry if I got your hopes up frown

Ah well. Thanks anyways. I get either another golden age or fail gold. Its probably going to be a kind of close race too. If he started right away in a good production city he will get probably. Not sure why he wouldn't have, unless he delayed with some military builds during my attack.

Man stuff happened between lunch and when I got out of work. Came into about 7?? various trade screens. Charriu launched an almost all out attack on besieging stack.

OH sent fish for fish, open borders, go to war with Charriu, something else? (accepted fish for fish)
Cairo sent fish for fish and an open borders (accepted both)
Charriu demanded iron twice (I was pretty sure I was already supplying, but sent him an extra). If he wanted my help he probably should have waited, his cap still has 31% defense, not sure how many cats he flanked away.

You are Accepting fish-fish offers? Weirdo
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. I thought the idea was to accept fish offers and decline/offer back iron, but what do I know?

in most instances, you send back the offer. UNLESS you want everyone to know you guys are buddy buddy. In which case you accept the offer. ( usually you just send it back anyway, and let them decide if they make it "official" or not. )

To be fair I've been supplying Charriu Iron for a long time. Something about settling Cornbread stealing his only source way way back when without realizing it. I had sent him an iron for iron / stone for stone deal trying to tell him to build cats when I was still deciding which way to go first. He accepted it...... That deal I had not meant him to accept. I honestly didn't know if he somehow had lost my iron in all the trades that hit so I gave into one of the iron deals figuring just for the 1% chance he actually needed for some reason.

ANYWAYS. Got a PM that AT declared war..... NOW I HAD JUST moved away a small stack of rifles from that border. I was going to take the AT border city before hitting Jowy's stack, but then Charriu hit Jowy's stack and I reconsidered (I'm assuming Charriu has been reporting on this). Now I had offered him fish for banana a few turns ago after deciding not to hit him first. He evidently didn't like me taking that island city. I mean the thing is worth base 20gpt in trade routes, so don't regret it. He evidently didn't take when he declared though, soooo now what. Do I wheel some amount north first. I could split the difference depending on number of units, but most of my rifles are only about half way across my very long empire atm.

Made peace with AT. Priorities and all that. Also even with taking care of a baby I'm not playing the length of turns Old Harry is. I is very scared.
BTW this is what happens when your opponent has any amount of collateral at all. And mind Jowy had a LARGE army. There is a reason I didn't go in in 1 big stack against Carthage....... Charriu did leave his horse city empty and Jowy razed it with his weakened knights, which btw I think Charriu ended up killing ALL of them? Unless he got them out to heal. Now mind this doesn't always work. AT tried retaking his city and it doesn't look like it met with the same success...... For some reason he didn't wait for Cairo to come to him where his stack couldn't heal / to get more junk together like Charriu did. He really wants out of this game I think. Anyways picture of Charriu's handiwork. He has been super impressive in his defensive wars.

Jowy is streaming in rifles. My stack isn't ready yet. Most of what you see is cats I had moved over there pre Carthage war. Again rifles take a long time to cross this long of an empire..... Not sure what Jowy teching next as he hasn't logged in, but he he can build caravels now, not that I think he will with his war going so poorly. Old Harry is clearly going to try to infrastructure up the very large Carthage empire, which makes sense. Cairo continues to spend insane amounts of EP against me. As soon as Cairo is healed up I imagine he will start marching through AT again.

Taj coming along. Trying to think what civics I want to be in long term in case I don't get. I forgot to do math, but 3-4 turns from 5 pop whipping it. Just to triple check (I just ran a sim to double check), extra golden age turns just get added on to the current one right?

As for my grand master plan overall? Wouldn't you all like to know!!!! (there is one I think, sort of, maybe, in my own noob way)

Also, baby says "ah" kinda.
