Well, i guess I have to go IW and do something with Serdoa, cause he just built Oracle, as well.
Is Vicky overpowered? That's not a reaction to Serdoa - it's just that vicky seems to win or be near the top of just about every game. IMP seems to be the best expansion trait in the game now and FIN is still very strong.
I get to grow Roy to size 7 before whipping the next city. I should be able to get 3 more out in the next 10 turns - silver, yellow filler and an island.
Serdoa did not take metal casting, so I guess he took Monarchy. So I could go metal casting and pick up collosus. Is that better than MoM? If I can get 3 GA, MoM is 9 more turns of GA. Collosus is a lot of turns of an extra gold for a lot of tiles for a long time, including giving me the fin bonus of ocean tiles.
Going for Metal Casting might cost me both, since someone may already be researching Metal Casting and might beat me, where I'm pretty sure I'll be first to Calendar.
Still thinking it's IW or Calendar.
It was just turn 75, so I figure a state of the civ post is useful (also, I can stop trying to figure out what to do)
The known world:
high level civ
Cities
Grow to 7, build a settler for 2 turns, 3 pop whip
Grow, build a settler, 2 pop whip (I think)
Grow, whip a settler, overflow to a wb (this will go to an island)
grow, whip a granary, grow on cottages
Got the WB for the fish, will grow and do something - cottages, probably.
Needs a lot, should be a good hybrid commerce/production site. Might get my first barracks.
Granary->settlers/workers, mainly
Advisors
I didn't grab all stat, but I still have 3 granaries and 2 lighthouses, with 4 more granaries being build. I need more workers, too.
I made my choice and it's... currency!! Because from currency all good things come. It will take awhile, though. It's like 14 turns at 50%. We'll see what happens.
More importantly, it's not yet time to grow large and its still the time to expand. I have probably 8 or 10 spots to go without a lot of conflicts
btw - I suppose I should say that I'm not surprised that Serdoa is winning right now with Liz.
A) Imp SHOULD be out in front. THe first 4 in score are IMP, IMP, EXP, IMP. A big question for me is what the hell is Jowy doing? He's last in cities despite being a civ that should be first and has no wonders to show for it.
B) I haven't moved into the mainly landlocked east - serdoa has - and his cities there will gain a lot of value for land. Planting the stone city should raise my points a fair amount, as will the cow/dye city, though cow/dye is not really going to be all that good.

I started moving my settler to the silver/stone site.
I whipped a settler in Haley. I had been planning on sending that to an island site, but now i'm wondering if I should send it to the cow site. That's a better site, long term, after all and the galley will take awhile to get there.
Durkon whips a settler next turn for the yellow site.
I think I'll go to an island site. Why? well, it's easy and its close and the coast is good.
2 turns to the silver/stone site and I think 2 turns for the marble site. I guess stone/silver will be Nale and fp will be Redcloak. The limiting factor on the island is the galley, so that will be maybe 3 or 4 turns, I'm not sure.
I am now thinking that the object of violence will need to be Tarkeel. He's got a tasty wonder and I think he'll end up being vulnerable.
This is Endor, which is I think his 7th city. It still has no food. I know he has better sites for this city, because I have better sites. If it was 1 S or he was creative or even had stonehenge, this would be one thing.
