More scouting in the North and South, PB's units still alive despite Bear, and both lizardmen suicide onto my walls, all current threats to my regime are now gone .

Yes, that was irksome , not to begrudge him his good luck, but I am kinda peeved at that whole dungeon stunt...

Selrahc responds:

I hadn't actually seen that. At my turn the dungeon was still there and PB goes after me. The fact that it happened while he was out of easy diplo contact makes it a lot more annoying. I noticed the possibility a few turns ago, but didn't really have much I could do. The scout I had moving towards his lands died, so I can't even return the favour.

If he gets the missionary home it does indeed create the holy city, which is a pretty important bonus. If you don't want the armageddon counter being raised early it might even be worth sending a hit team to kill it. I definitely can't afford to do that though, with Orthus prowling my lands. And I hear tell that you aren't having much better luck. Probably easier just to let him have his prize and hope it gets eaten by a lizard.

Overall it's a bit annoying but not unexpected. Let's just be glad he didn't spawn a heroic wraith or something.

I don't think it's worth it to antagonize PB that much by running a scout out to whack the Savant. It'll effectively be a +2 research + 3 culture in the city he settles, or a medic unit early. Letting him know that we noticed and are annoyed was the most important part I think.

Response to Selrahc.

I won't be doing anything that antagonistic. I've got a leveled scout
nearby who could probably get away with it, but there are better
things for him to be doing, like clearing skeletons out of my forests.
It'll be worth approximately 2 beakers and some culture for a long
time, which is nice but not game-breaking.

How is the Orthus game going by the way? I know Archduke is
complaining about having a boring opening, but sometimes I think I'd
trade him that for all my lizardman problems. There's also a bear
wandering the outer periphery of my own lands, but I plan on getting
him cleared relatively quickly.

Is PB ignoring me and trying to get me mad at him? He popped the other dungeon, this time for a great general. He's making it worth it for me to run that scout out, and I can move faster than he through that land...

I update Selrahc immediately, I'll decide what to send Pocketbeetle later.

He popped the other dungeon as well for a great commander. You should
see both him and the savant on your borders. It is annoying that he
is not answering his e-mails right now.

The bear, once again, was useless and didn't go for PB's scout in the interturn.

Turn 54:

Forgot to move the worker out to farm, exploration finishes next turn and I'll start laying down roads to connect my two city sites. Next on the list is hunting, since scouting hasn't revealed any extra interesting calendar resources to exploit before I hit FoL.

The Scouting Expeditions continue apace.





Area around the capital is much cooler then, still face-palming on the worker move, but such is the life.

scouts upon our borders. That is all.

Hey Cull, Athlete,

I'm just touching base with you. My northern scout has found the
coast and is hoping to follow it along the continent's edge to Dwarf
lands. From there we'll backfill scout the rest of the land, giving
us a clear picture of how to divide it between our two sides. There
is a lizard lair in the north, actually in the tundra, surprisingly,
so don't be surprised if lizardmen come from the north in addition to
the southern Jungle.
