I'm not going to lie I thought Nauf was pretty doomed when he let Magic have time to consolidate the new territory. Impressive comeback.

Very impressive.

MJ, has anyone scouted that yet? Nice touch.

Not that I'm aware of.

I find it interesting that both Nauf and Commodore think Pin is 100% going to lib, but Pin himself doesn't seem to be? Honestly while democracy CAN BE a valid target, I think it would be a mistake here. If I was Pin I would just grab it to prevent someone else from doing and lib something more military focused.

Yeah, he doesn't need Democracy. SoL is such a long bid.

Communism wouldn't be bad, but military should be the priority.

Pin has very good game sense. He knows what firing a GA from his position is going to do to Comm. To be seen is what it does to the others.

Pin already has Rifling and Nationalism so Cavalry are only Music and Mil Trad away. Cavalry are an excellent answer to Commodore's Uber-Grenadiers.
A quick detour here would give him a lot of military security.

For the record I think those blaming Bing for letting Pin take his stuff for "free" aren't being very fair. I get the in game frustration, but Bing was 2v1 and had to make a choice between defending his core or very recently conquered territory. I don't think anyone was shocked when Magic didn't move half his stack to get whipped out in former Mig territory and no one expected Magic to abandon his core for recently conquered lands.

Gav has already made his own defense about why Commodore had to do more work there.

But yes Pin has made two conquests at low costs.

I would be whining too if I was Commodore, but also he's not really correct to imply he was treated unfairly and he probably knows it and will admit as such post-game. Just had bad luck this game that twice the dogpile target defended harder against him. Although I'm not even sure it's bad luck with Bing - it was entirely predictable that forced to choose he would defend his core cities way harder than recent conquests. The likelihood pindicator would walk into easy conquests should have been priced in.

I think this attempted dogpile on pindicator will fail and concession will follow shortly after. But I've been wrong before in this game.

Ironically Naufs resiliency and ability to somehow overcome Magic is a big part of this. Nauf just can't access Pin effectively. Plus you would need Nauf and Magic trusting each other. If Magic had killed Nauf on the other hand that would be a different end game story.

Too bad Magic just kind of went dark this game. Since he will most likely read stuff post game I'll be curious thoughts on what happened. Too much infrastructure builds? Not enough? Not enough attention to cultural swaps (easy thing to miss). If he wanted to go after Bing I wonder if like 2-3 turns before everyone declared if he should have war peaced Nauf (paying him off if need be).

Hm, nauf could ask Commodore (or MS/pind crazyeye) for some spare 40 gold, maybe that would allow to switch the remaining wealth builds to research... would that suffice?

Appears like this is exactly what happened, and he will get Liberalism as a result. Although looks like Pindicator was calling off challenging him so I'm not sure speeding it by 1T is making the difference here.
