¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's fine. Horrible for me, that copper is a nightmare backline, etc, etc, but I never asked for any balance whatsoever so I'm happy.

Oh nice, right after complaining about the situation, RNG finally saw sit to spread Taoism to the Wilderlands.

Shrine next turn will be worth an appreciated 6gpt. Then it's full priests for a while to hit Theology bulbing.

There was a real debate about this vs Theology bulb. In the end, AP is just too many hammers for right now, so need to get another prophet out of here in ~20t.

Us: The Dai Miao
Krill: The Pyramids
Pindicator: The Colossus

Been a very wonder-ful pair of turns.

Borders popping, wines coming online, and first riverside cottage up and running. Night Below pops fourth ring in 4t, which lets us hook clams so that last peaceful city can be founded.

I want a core of half a dozen more spears and then I'm going to mass swords to see if I can take advantage of Superdeath's classic self-immolation.

Flashing the sword and the completed horse pasture at Krill, our time of worst danger is now past.

Still want to get a spear stack before I settle city #9, but the good news is that my neighbors are Krill and Thoth here; both very aggressive by default, but they're also smart enough to know there's no way to profitably invade me at this point, an empire with more build queues than them and actual strategic resources. Would have been a pushover ten turns ago, but now we're spikey. So chopping out that last settler in 4t. thumbsup

There are in-game reasons to attempt a conquest of Superdeath, but frankly the main drive is in how much better this game would run if he's gone.

Pictured: Superdeath being completely nonsensical, and Pindicator getting his samurai.

Pitboss 71 Turn 100: We're Weak, but We're Also Fat:
Welcome to part one of Pitboss 71: Turn 100 Overview: Part One: Cities. The largest number of cities on the game sounds all well and good, but once you actually get to see them? Eh. Take the sad little capital of Search Unknown, undergrown and slowly shrinking as I work on a bulb for Theology and thus Theocracy civic/Apostolic Palace. The shrine isn't doing badly for this stage of the game...apparently Taoism has spread *somewhere* out in the fog, and I'll be spreading it to another two of my cities in two more turns. Beyond that, though, it's sad, I want three cottages being invested in with the cities three pop bigger, but that's not how this worked out.

Night Below, the second city, is even sadder. I sacrificed a lot (probably too much) for the early Oracle, and then grew slow due to the prophet push. Now it's going to look a little better soon, but what it a potentially great city is now just "okay".

Borderland Keeping had a thousand wonderful forests early on, but now it's just a whipping post for a lot of military. In ten turns or so I want to have enough spears and swords to actually invade, so I'm going to hurt this place so good. Islam had ten turns to spread naturally better than Taoism and be the shrine recipient and it didn't spread at all, so now it's officially buried for good.

Castle Ravenloft is a fine city eventually; I want cottages on the green. Now I'm just getting ready for whips, galley and sword.

Pitboss 71 Turn 100: The Field is Struggling and Also Thoth and Krill Exist:
Demos show that there's a pretty clear stratification in this game...Krill's top, Thoth is a rising second, Pindicator needs to get moving, we need to make units and develop better, and then out of the contender tier are SD, Bing, and Yuri.
GNP, everyone among the Contender Tier was extremely even until Krill hit Currency, now he's zooming and Broken Zigs will only help more:
MFG, Pindicator of the early forges showed a clear lead while we lagged somewhat...I think he's dropped a bit to finish the last bit of Machinery post-bulb. Thoth meanwhile is showing a good growth organically:
CY, it's not "contender tier", it's Krill/Thoth, Pindicator/us, and then the poor Superdeath victims. I don't see this getting better:
Power, the story is that Krill has been consistently muscular, Superdeath has squandered an absurd number of keshiks ruining his game and Yuri's, and then we somehow escaped having NO military for forever and we still need to recover:

Here's the layout as best I can see. Bing is Krill's easy snack. Superdeath can be split handily by Thoth and I. Pin desperately wants to use his samurai but the greenery makes me think there's water between him and Bing, so his target options are the gross Thoth or Krill. Sooo...do we try to help him against one? Do we try a cross-sea invasion of Superdeath's 3-city core? Hard choices.

Set of current wonders. Us, Pin, Krill only ones who've gotten into the game. I don't know if Thoth will go for an early Calendar but MoM is rational from his perspective. Krill might try and snipe the AP with his excellent GNP plus a Great Engineer chance. Beyond Priest Economy wonders, we lack marble, so less attraction to taking an Aesthetics twist.

Finally, victory. Thoth actually is tops in citizens, growing them onto mines it looks like, while Krill still has a lot more room once he chops his deep jungles. This is okay, but this isn't something we can win passively.
Lot of choices ahead.
