This ^ I like the hilarious dumbness that comes with it. Besides the 2 land bridges, i could make a 3rd that connects NA with Asia? Up to you folks. Otherwise the winner of the America's will randomly declare war on X civ and have a HUGE army, but 4 boats. 2 of which are filled.

Ran a tester with no added ai besides what was chosen. Just to t101. Never gonna guess who started the first war. (hint, 2 different civs actually declared war on the same turn) If people want screenshots of what their civ potentially looks like after 100turns with no added civs to get in the way, i can send it. OTHERWISE you can wait and be just as surprised as me. ATM, i believe ill be adding in Egypt, Byzantium, Portugal, Japan. MIGHT add in Khmer, but India doesnt get much land that way.
Open to suggestions, and of course my choices will change if someone chooses a civ between now and then.

I would prefer to be surprised, and I'm fine with either type of AI.

No opinion on AI used. Learning more about the K-mod AI could be interesting, but seeing the familiar gang of idiots in action is part of the fun of these kinds of games.
I will guess the first war was declared by Monty. The other on the same turn...hmmmm. Stalin, maybe? He can be pretty aggressive.

Seems to be a small error/bug with the Sid Meier Civ. while waaaaaaaaaaay far away, and just observing via great spy EP.. ill end turn and it will say i declared war on someone.
Gonna try it without being Sid, probably just as one of the civs that doesnt get chosen. But still weird.
As far as K-mod, if someone could add the AI aspect to Charrius mod, id love it. Otherwise in order to not have an ai forever at war with a ai on an island... Ill probably connect some

I'll take Toku
I tried K-Mod for AI competition purposes at one point, and my impression was that while things AIs did may have been more reasonable and strategically sound, it was less compelling to watch

The completely nutty aggressive stupidity of the Civ4 AI is part of its charm.

Yeah I think AI being lovable idiots is part of the charm of these games. For smart play (*degree of smartness may vary) we have MP games

Building an AI to play a 4X game well, and building an AI to provice interesting game play for the human player, are not always the same thing. The AI needs to be good enough at the game to provide a challenge, but being flavorful and entertaining is also important. I like the variability of the Civ4 AI with the war mongers, the wonder builders, the trade enthusiast, the isolationist, the religious fanatics, and so forth. Plus Gandhi, of course; can't forget that annoying guy.

SD, do you plan to stream this game? I would probably tune in depending on the timing.
