Sure, I'll pop in on discord. Not sure how much I'll have to contribute, I just try to ask questions and let people who actually play the game think about them. smile

Is this discord available for silent lurker consumption? I'd happily read along if so.

Sent it on to all of you.

2 quick settlers could end up being a good option.

Borders popped this turn:

Not the map shape I was expecting. Might need to send the warrior south even after 3rd ring border pop. Potential for island trade routes would be nice.

Didn't want to send the scout further West into a jungle, so looping around the north.

If the Ind player has stone too there is some competition for the Pyramids but I imagine we'll be too fast anyway. On that note, we will be hitting an early MC, with a forge in hammer heavy capital and a decent amount of coast. Feels like we might as well make a run at the Colossus.

Sounds like if we build Colossus it would be a case where we use coast while growing and Rep specialists when at our target size based on available happy.

We've been exploring the world, waiting for the game to start. Been a bit slow and unsatisfying, a lot more 1 tile moves and doubling back than I would like. Met Nauf:

Had to declare war to get sight of his capital. He's too close for comfort but he's not Zulu, so that's good, and there doesn't seem to be any decent land between us either, so peaceful co-existence might be an option.

Finally found something that begins to look like a 2nd city this turn:

My inclination would be to share the capital's fish, and get an immediate trade route. It's a bit slow to have all new resources in the 2nd ring though. The pigs city is still a little bit tempting since it would have another 6 yield tile online from founding. Still hoping for better tbh.

I think the scout will continue to map out the east, see if we have any opponents in that direction. The first warrior will head south, should be in time to get a quick look at the area beyond the capital before the worker finishes the ivory camp and we have to make a decision. We'll have 3rd ring vision too.

Since we haven't seen any sign of Zulu yet, I'd be happy planning city 2 without copper, and only deviate if it pops somewhere nice. We'll see it before the settler comes out, but not before we have to commit the worker to something.
