[SPOILERS] Pindicator digs up the past with Kongo

So what is the plan for the governors? I see that is also overhauled. I still think the extra builder charge is invaluable, I always postpone my first builder till Lian is established. But the other options have been shuffled around a bit.

Well, I went ahead and built the first builder to get some luxuries hooked up.

Bought the salt for 55g and improved it this turn. Undecided on the next two charges, I probably hold the charges to see where strategic resources pop up.

Yeah, I need to think on governors.

I guess one charge should go to farm the rice to get the irrigation discount. A 4 food tile also gives some flexibility in micro-management.

I would also consider farming the rice (food and eureka) and probably pasture a sheep.at second city ( for eureka) or cocoa ?

Sorry of course pasture the cow at 3rd ,city definitely smile

I agree with Pindicator to first see if there are horses, before the cow, they also need a pasture so trigger the same eureka. That should be quick enough.

BTW, it is not that in BGG settlers ignore terrain movenment per se, that is a leader ability for you.

Well it turns out there was a very good reason for Yuri to stretch so far with his second city:

Discovering the third natural wonder gets us closer to unlocking a golden age.  So far everybody has a cultural natural wonder to settle beside.

Took a peek at great people:

Jasper and an unmet civ are going for Religion - which I suppose must be Saladin?  In single player Saladin is nice to just ignore religion and get the last one, but that may not work so well in a MP game.

Took a stab at district placements, but there isn't an obvious layout presenting itself to me here:

I have always forgotten about chopping requirements for as long as I've owned this game.  Just never can get that to sink in for some reason.  But I think Bronze Working needs to be my next tech.  BW & AH, in some order.  The other option is to place Behemoth's Commercial Hub NW of the rice, but that isn't great because it's tougher to fit together a Theater-CH-Mbanza triangle, and also I like this layout because it preserves the option of a double Aqueduct-double IZ diamond between Behemoth & Aristocrat. So I am tempted to go for BW ahead of AH so I can get that Commercial Hub down quick.

And I've delayed the governor question, but I suppose we should get to that now. Going to have to select it next turn, after all. I am not in love with any one option. Magnus in the capital could work well to pair with all the trade routes from Commercial Hubs, but I don't see a ton of good chops happening at Aristocrat. That's my default option, though. Second option is to throw Moshka down and just really lean into culture generation. I see Drama being my next Culture after Political Philosophy - or do I even go for Drama next to really lean into the culture generation? (Funny enough, it looks like the relic bonuses have been removed from Kongo in BBG 7.1)

I considered Amani to become suzerain of Mogadishu, but I think that can be done with a later governor title. Pingala to shore up my science generation while I focus on culture, but I'd rather lean in to one mechanic. I have to admit, I didn't look at Reyna but perhaps I should.

I think for the first 3 titles, one idea that makes sense is to put two titles on Magnus and put him in the capital, and the third title goes to Liang, who probably ends up in Behemoth for builder generation. An interesting alternative is just put all 3 into Moksha and use internal trade routes to generate even more culture, but I dont' think I like that as much. Though perhaps I could get faith generation with Religious Idols or Earth Goddess pantheon.

Oh yes, that's another thing I've been putting off: pantheons.

Pulling myself away from the Path of Exile 2 expansion for a bit ...

Hit Currency and the Classical Era. I started Commercial Districts in Aristocrat and Surfcaster but decided that I need to wait for chopping jungles before I throw one down in Behemoth. Actually, I went and laid out plans for my first districts in all my early city spots.

Behemoth is going to build its Campus first instead, so I went for Animal Husbandry as my next tech. My builder is moving to the sheep at Behemoth but will only improve the plains sheep there if there is no horse to get the boost off of.

For Pantheon I ended up picking Earth Goddess. I just wasn't sold on many of the pantheons, but there were a good amount of tiles to get +1 faith on, and perhaps it lends to me grabbing Moksha later on. Instead, I grabbed my default choice for governor: Magnus in the capital.

But where are you going to put the Goverment Plaza? Even more important than normal because of the free relic.

Ah shoot, that's a good point. I always forget about that one.

Guess I could put it west of the salt but obviously that's not a great location. It probably needs to go at the capital unless I'm willing to delay it
