Warlord Mod: Should each realm at 0 book give 1 random common spell researchable?

I have poll question to ask about what should I do about feature in Warlord mod.

In Warlord mod, each wizard will get 1 common spell of each realm even if they don't have any book in that realm itself (0 book). Reasons behind such feature are due to I want to uniforminity in pattern as 1 book wizard would get 1 uncommon, 2 book get 1 rare, 3 book get 1 very rare spell, so by this logic 0 book should give 1 common spell of that realm too. I also want to bring more unpredictability to the game so I decide to have 1 random common spell of each realm that wizard don't have any book on as curved ball that different from forced picking feature of spell for ai in order to form workable combo so those unknown random spells would be part that player could not predict by just looking into wizard profile of others.

But I received so many questions about this feature that many people seem to assume it might be a bug or some who known this feature considered this as break of character or theme of those wizard opponents. So I decide to establish poll to know if this feature is good to keep in this mod or terrible idea that need to be revert back to how Caster of Magic was.

Hmm, interesting. I think I like the idea overall, and more unpredictability is cool. However, the statement that it goes against the lore of the wizards is a really important point.

Is it possible to have it as a feature that can be turned off and on? If not, I'd slightly veer towards removing it as a feature. Which is a shame, since I think it sounds neat.

Yeah, ideally it would be a game option we could pick at the start. Sadly our modding tools are still too limited to implement it that way, so it has to be a "one size fits all" approach, unfortunately.

Dang dude. You know what, the wizards in warlord have different names than the base game wizards right? If so, then the "flavour" argument matters less.

I think you should choose what you like best. Otherwise, I also think it would be a good Score Modifier. "Every wizard starts with a hero" would be another one. I wonder if that one is doable ...

Huh, every wizard starts with a hero actually sounds really cool.

You could probably just change the starting unit in races.ini to a hero. I can't test it right now because I won't have a PC for the next few weeks, but I think it could work. Each race could be assigned its own special low-end hero. You would have to manually apply the file to activate the score modifier. Unloading and loading the mod would undo it.

So how about a Score Modifier: "No random spells at game start. ... Read help text in folder xyz to apply manually."

I think I have enough opposition to this feature, I will disable free 1 spell at 0 book in next release.
