[SPOILERS] Sandover(cre/spi) of Egypt

Sandover Wrote:Scooter is teching at a rather crazy rate atm and so long as Moogle and Timmy sticks to doing his bidding there's nothing I can do to stop him. Game over? Maybe. Here's Plan B:

Build Buddhist missionaries and spread the word of peace to the world in the hopes of signing a peace treaty with everyone? huh
Playing as the Mayans in PBEM9
Dedicated Lurker to the Byzantines in PBEM12

That's one of the ideas I had in mind.smile But first and foremost I'm gonna try to sneak in a diplo victory. I don't think it's going to work because I expect Moogle to catch me in the act, but it's worth a shot nevertheless. The military race has proven to be a stalemate and I'm clearly failling behind in the technological counterpart so lets see if I can win a religious one.

Turn 149 - Newer Sandoria

Not much going on. Astronomy is in so I'll send a settling party to Teemo Island shortly. Germany was eliminated last turn and this turn saw the founding of my final first ring(!) city.

Turn 150 - 23 cities, 7 wars, 1 elimination

aka AD 1600. Lets roll!

My glorious southern core of cities that was threatened by the combined forces of the Roman and Khmer Empire. The area hasn't suffered much by the war and Worthington is still doing a good job of pressing the border, recently stealing two BFC-tiles from Xen.

The old northern ring of cities has been doing a good of job of catching up with the south in terms of development. 14 lake tiles are being worked in this picture alone.rolleye

What used to be my far-away eastern border is now the actual center of my large empire. The younger cities of Liverpool, El-Waltz and Dance Party has formed a joint between Old and German Egypt.

German Egypt has experienced an influx of Egyptian culture and technology over the last years, and has become a productive part of the empire. The Celts have, sadly, proven to be poor neighbours.

More to come in a separate post.

Demos are looking good bar from the GNP figure. I've fallen down to third even when generating 100% gold, which is what Egypt does best, so I'm only middle of the pack here.

It's easier to get a good picture of my current military from this screen than the military one, so here you go. Note that only a third of my glorious War Chariots, that dominated the power graph during the ancient era, have survived the many wars.

I won't post any graph charts, since I don't have Scooter's (kind of pointless without the main rival in there). If you want to see a comparison between the two of us you need to poke him in his thread.

Last part coming up.

Finishing off with a view into a selection of cities.

With spreading of irrigation Sandoria has been reconfigured for growth, aiming to reach its intended max size of 17 where it will be "working" five specialists in addition to its five wonders. It will be able to swap into 2 plain hills and 2 workshops for 16 extra base hammers should a need for production arrise.

Satet is, as you know, my first choice military producer. It has recently added the West Point and will reach max size in three more turns. I'm once again using some specialists in here due to a silly amount of overflow messing things up.

My, ahem, "draft camp" Worthington. I'm yet to go back to Nationhood since the first drafting spree I had, and despite several wars being fought on regular basis it simply isn't appealing enough to so before Rifles. Thus, Worthington remains on commerce duty.

Nubian has gone from being a silly far-away outpost in the ancient age to becoming the heart of modern Egypt. It has been selected to build the Oxford University mainly by virtue of its safe backline location. Specialists are configured to speed construction up one turn. I definitly do not regret not razing this city.

Been there, done that. But Soothsayer Port is a vital part of my empire as first shipyard so here it is again. The settling expedition to Teemo Island will leave port next turn.

And lastly, a look into my best German acquisition. Yes, it has nine peaks and no rivers. It's still the best though, trust me.bang

If there's anything else you want to see ask for it and I shall deliver.

Researched Constitution and went into Representation. 56 specialist later I'm top of the GNP-chart once more.jive

I had to sacrifice my production lead, but end of the day I won't miss those pesky plain hills. What I haven't told you is that most of my production cities have been building Libraries/Universities/Observatories lately, to drop previously mentioned hills to work Rep fueled scientists (+6 beakers pre modifiers) for an awesome +10.5 beakers/scientist. A lot of cities are still building the necessary infrastructure, and many are still growing, so my economy will only continue to get stronger from here. That should give Scooter something to worry about.

Timmy has started to draft Rilfes by the way, so I can't delay Rifling any longer. Three Galleons has been built to scare him into defending his coast, which should force him to leave a lot of forces at home. I'm 99% sure his Knight stack is currently hiding behind Samba. No problem defending against that one - the wild card is scooter, as I don't have his power graph, but I reckon I'll be fine even though I'm not producing more units at this point.

As for Project Buddhism I'm still some 100 votes short of Moogles 250ish right now, but it's going along nicely. No further spreading has been detected elsewhere as of yet, so things are looking bright.
