[SPOILERS] Athlete and Lewwyn are SHAKA OF THE VIKINGS

You got kind of screwed with the start, but the map isn't bad for your civ. Load up some fast galleys with Berserkers and go bash some heads. smile
I have to run.

No I'm not screwed, I'm just in tough. Not the position I wanted at this point but you pretty much hit the nail on the head with what I plan to do Novice!

From Jowy to Me:
Quote:Hey Athlete,

I'm all up for some teamed up mayhem. Your idea isn't really bad, but I think there is something better we can do. We attack Seven. He's the real leader in this game and it's only going to get worse if we let him grow. Believe me, regardless of his acquisition of longbows, it's so much easier to get him first. Not just that, but by attacking him we could team up and thus gain a clear advantage compared to a 1vs1 war against our other neighbours. Also, I've made Nakor settle north, you should make Rev aware of your plans to be aggressive and try to make him settle south. That way those two should be under control.

Let me know if you're interested and what kind of an army you can amass and in what timeline.

~ Jowy

I dunno if I really want to fight another Longbow war...yikes

Me to Jowy:
Quote:Hey Jowy,

It's a bit early for me to really be amassing an army, especially one that you want to go against longbows. We won't make any headway at all against him without catapults which are a long way off for me and I'll need Zerkers which are even farther away. I'll need to wait a bit before I'll be able to attack anybody. Your praets should be in play or in play soon so if you see an opportunity I would encourage you to take it. A quick short term war wouldn't hurt you while it could really slow one of your neighbours. Don't get caught overextending though.

I'll agree that Seven is the real leader right now but frankly me committing to attack him right this moment would be ludicrous. I'll commit that I'll be ready for action when I get my zerkers. If the game still dictates than that we go after Seven then sure thing. Apart from that I need to catch up in cities and pop right now.

T-hawk Wrote:F8 only shows options that are not set to the defaults. If it says nothing about events, then it's the default setting, which is on.

This is good to know. I was assuming they were off, only because I normally would have encountered one by now in a regular SP game. Still, it has been a while since I've played one of those...

Trying to do a bit of an update. I spent a bit of time tonight trying to figure out some plans and remember what it was I was doing from before the break last week.

Here's a look at the top 5 cities as of my EOT 81:

Demographics from my EOT 81:

The top third or so of the map:
Catherine Callbeck was renamed to Kim Campbell. Slight mistake in the original naming. She was a barb worker that ended up next to Marty McSorley 2 turns ago. That was a nice surprise. Also the sign that says 2T Farm is supposed to be 2T Mine. The missionary that is on my galley is actually in Montreal. The pics are taken from a replay and I forgot to unload him during the replay. I also purposefully put my galley where it is on the off chance Seven's galley has an axe on it or something. I wouldn't want it trying to get to Halifax and getting a lucky strike off the boat.

The middle third:
By the EOT 83 that barb city should be mine unless another warrior appears or Seven's Woody III axe interrupts it. I saw him around last turn so I'm not sure what Seven might be planning. If I can take though I'm going to keep it. 2 workers to come with it straight away. It has a Barracks already so hopefully that would stay.

The bottom third:

Not much to see here except you get a quick peek inside Jowy's borders.

Charlottetown - EOT 81:

The settler will load onto the galley and head to the gems spot west of Fredricton. The exact spot is a grass/hill/forest that I believe is 1SW, 1W of John A. MacDonald's current location. That city should be founded on T90 unless I get beaten there by The Rev.

Fredricton - EOT 81:

I'm not entirely sure of how I'll proceed here. I'll probably complete that missionary and then a chariot and then a forge as Metal Casting will be in shortly.

Halifax - EOT 81:
Here I'm really waiting for the whip anger to wear off. That stupid anger thing from wanting to go back to the barbs is really annoying cause I had not idea about it and wasn't planning on it. Still...this will probably become my Moai city once I get stone hooked up.

Montreal - EOT 81:

I'll let the granary complete naturally here I think. It will start immediately onto a forge and I'll have a chop get into it. I'll get the forge built asap here then onto a Barracks and then units. A library will have to get squeezed in when I get writing.

Here you can see a Babylonian Axe which might cause some problems:
Reason being as he is right near my planned city site (2S of it to be exact). My settler is now due in 2 and needs 5T before he founds the city. I have a feeling of foreboding about that axe. As such I decided to switch Fredricton onto a chariot which will time it's completion and be able to move to the planned city site the same turn the settler arrives there.

And here is the latest by the barb city to the south:
A warrior was built on the interturn so I've disposed of it this turn and hopefully next turn the city will be mine. SevenSpirits has a Woody III axe floating around so I'm hoping to avoid the axe trying to take the city or even take it from me once I get it.

Here's a look at the newly captured Niagara Falls (Canadian side of course wink):

The bit in red is to note that as soon as I get Metal Casting, Halifax will switch to a forge, grow to size 6 and triple whip it and then complete this trading post.

And here's a look at the top third of the map:

The units I pointed to are so that you can tell what they are doing. The others you can tell by the signs. I've got 2 workers up near the babylonian border. Hopefully he doesn't get frisky!

In the post above you can see a worker on a sign that says 1T Farm. I moved that worker 1N into the forest on T85 and will move the worker that completed the road into the same forest on T86. That way the chop can finish on T87 and my chariot is out slightly faster along with the missionary. I'm going to need culture in my gems city asap.

After completing the chop they will both farm until that's complete (T89).
