I dunno, man, the steampunk aesthetic wasn't too much a stretch but as good as the initial impression was Korra just didn't have near the impact as TLA.

(This is the old avatar, Commodore is the knight and the knight is Commodore.)

From your image, I deduce you are taking Vikings and going a-raiding

Not an option for me. Your old confederate Scooter can be Pacal of Vikings if he wants though:

My quick first thoughts on changes:
Inca is still great with Expansive, but the 70h cost hurts a lot. Only expansive option here is Washington, who gets cheap monuments.
Arabia hasn't changed much, but I like them anyway, why not March?
I guess the Ottomen's Hannams are better with Exp's +100% boost?
I don't have any weirdly supercharged leaders. Vicky is still probably best in a vacuum, but with a map this size I don't love REX-focus. Downgrade of the Imperialistics, upgrade the Philosophicals. Brennus, Qin, and Gandhi are the most interesting to me right now.

Their Camel Archer does get March.

Exactly.  nod

A quick note on my map thinking: A first-time mapmaker will be prone to juice the food, I expect lushness. This is also a 49-sized tight map, so horse archers are king. On the other hand, nobody here is even as food-tier as "generally competent newbie". Settling races matter, culture matters, and I won't be able to slow-roll Construction because we're going to be catting fast.

Ah I now understood how you meant "why not March?"

There's also Izzy in that list, though not an original choice in recent context.
