[split] MyName's thread for letting off steam

Judging by your statement, an ordinary person can easily understand binary code, which I very much doubt
You're unlikely to find anything simpler than 1oom. Unpack and play
UPD: The only issue is that it's not easy to find that "fixbugs" toggle, i know how to fix it, just need some time
UPD2: This is not a mod. This is a patch for 1oom that restores a lot of the MOO v1.3 behavior and fixes about 150 bugs made by 1oom author.
UPD3: You use outdated link with broken build, check the topic https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/show...78&page=30
UPD4: There is a Doc folder with very scattered documentation. I'm not interested in fixing this since I'm making the game for myself. However, whenever possible, I will make changes there
UPD5: I can say that I am a normal person and I have no problems delving into anything. This is not a problem with open source. This is the problem of lazy people.
UPD6: I will never respect the opinion of a radically lazy person

...That's a little harsh, don't you think?

I'm not lazy, just genuinely confused by all the different versions of these fan projects going around. It would help if you kept the stuff for your own version in it's own separate thread, instead of spreading it around on all these other threads.

I don't care, people like it except you. Try to do something useful instead of throwing stones at those who have already done something

I would play 1.40m. 1oom makes too many changes and MyName's stuff is based on that. So it's still a mod and not a patch. This is why people are rejecting it.

I would play the base game normally but it has stuff like "infinity recharging specials" and "wrong choice of objectives" so it isn't an option.

Age of Wonders is as low as graphics can go and make me still want to play the game and that game came out 4-years after MOO. MOO looks like a powerpoint presentation! So this is just theorycrafting what I would want to play.

MyName, cut out the ad-hominem; there is absolutely no call for it and you are out of line.  This is not a bugfix coders' board; it's a friendly gaming community.  Here's the baseline:

Quote:We're a community spreading across the traditional lines of games, and who are like-minded on several key points...
... to seek challenge and fun, not simply 'high score' or 'the most elite stuff!'
... to excel is virtue
... to look to become friends with those you play with
... to treat others with respect, whether you agree with them or not
... to steadfastly avoid cheating

It's great that you've stopped by and posted (lots of!) examples of your Orion play, and I'm glad you enjoy writing 1oom code and have written some that satisfies you and offered to share it.  If others enjoy playing with it, that's great too!  But all of that is secondary when posting on this forum to the way you communicate with other members of the community.  We're here to enjoy games we love together, not to call each other lazy for enjoying different aspects or versions or methods-of-play of a thirty-year-old computer game - still less to insult someone for trying to offer a constructive suggestion about something you posted about.  I hope you stick around and talk more about what you've learned about the game - as long as you're willing to recognize that other people's preferences for the games they play are as valid as your own.

If you want to persuade others to play your version of 1oom or show people how cool it is, calling them names doesn't help.  If you don't want to create documentation because you're making something for yourself, that's totally understandable and fine, and doesn't become more so if you call someone else lazy.  If you think your version of 1oom is the best MoO and that criticism about its accessibility is incorrect, talk to the criticism:  Show that it's totally easy and accessible after all - but don't insult people who tell you they don't find it so.

You always tread with respect someone who want to kill your family? Gl with this.
If you cross the line you shoud at least earn respect back if it's possible but not forcing anyone to respect wrong people
If you respect everyone you're just an idiot, if you force to respect others you are crime
Also learn to see passive aggression. At least google it and teach people who deserves it
If you don't know base psychology you should not quote the rules

That's actually true, but it's true mostly about Tapani fork. I rejected most unconditional changes there.

Imagine calling someone lazy is an insult. I just see a bunch of people throwing nonsense to the one who actually knows better how everything works. If you communicate with someone, you should be able to not provoke people with your endless idiotic behavior

MyName: If you can't hold yourself to the bounds of basic civility while talking about a fun computer game we like to play, please refrain from posting until you've cooled off enough to do so. If you imagine that any of your four recent posts have been within the bounds of basic civility, you might try imagining how you would react if someone responded to you in those terms or in that way. I will not respond to further insults and recriminatory trolling except with moderator action.
