Hi.

After picking up D2 late in the game, and playing solo with v1.06 off and on for the last several months, I decided to grab the expansion and try a game or two in on b.net.

What chaos...the games I was able to string together some sort of cooperative play were extremely harried and not exactly to my taste (granted, I am used to soloing and full clearing, with lots of trips to town to sell and gamble).

Does RB still have any presence in coop games on b.net other than slackers and other specific variant coops?

I would love to game with folks more to my suiting, noting that I am basically starting from scratch as of last night. Not looking for leveling or trading--just some no bs shared risk, shared reward games with folks I trust.

Are there other opportunities for good coop gaming as well? Sorry for the newb type questions, but I have been VERY slow to pick up the expansion, based on good advice from folks around here. I am loving the heck out of the game, and did greatly enjoy multi-play--or at least I now have an appreciation for it. BTW--I have US-EAST and US-WEST accounts, but my only character of note is a somewhat slacking martial arts assassin with between 8-10 points unassigned at clvl 18 or so (I don't remember exactly, since I stayed up WAY too late fooling around ). She is in Act II with no quests completed.

Yep.

As you note, slackers is on weekly on Sun nights. But, in general, you can find people playing on USWest in RBD1-9 (RBD1-3 is for normal games, 4-6 for nightmare, and 7-9 for hell) most nights. These are password protected games; I'm not sure what the policy for revealing the password on the forum is, but you can look me up (my account is Zed-F) and I can give it to you.

I have a clvl19 ultraslacker asn in act 2. I also have the beginnings of a passive zon at clvl12, but she is still in act 1, and a clvl 24 no-skills barb who is in act 3. Currently I am spending most of my time playing my necro in hell, trying to get past Baal, but I can certainly spend some time with my low level characters if you would like some company.

Although RB activity on Bnet is not what it used to be, we still have around 10 (somewhat) regulars plus a few who drop in from time to time. The chance of finding RBers in games other than the regular scheduled team games depends on when you play. Since we don't have a bot anymore, the best thing to do is to check all the games, from rbd1 to rbd9 without the password and see if any game is up. (I will email you the password so you can get in the games)

Btw, non team members are always welcome to drop by team games to say hi, and possibly play in another area.

Yea, there is still fun to be had with Diablo and there are no better coop games than the RB ;-) Feel free to chance catching us on Bnet, or arrange games on this forum.

And, if you like team games, we just might have another team game coming up - It will be the ultimate LoD challenge...
