First thought: am I the only one who thinks that the one civ who has the "all units start with Commando" promotion could be extremely powerful in a MP game with human players? Unless there's something very different in this game - very possible with FFH! lol - it's going to be awful tough having to defend every city 6 tiles behind the front lines.

Definitely. The only thing I can see working against the promo is that many of the units seem to have high base-movement and ignore some terrain. So if like the elves don't worry about moving through forests maybe just don't road your cities?

The hippus are going to be brutal in mp. They get extra moves, special mounted units and start with Horse resource. All the civs are broken in some way though, as bob says that is the fun of this mod smile.

I plan on posting a high level overview of the mod Monday, and look forward to answering any questions people might have as the game progresses. At least two turnplayers look to really be into sharing, and I predict before this is over we'll have some new FFH addicts nod.

Darrell, what does the map look like, by the way?

This should be interesting to lurk, I must say. I've never played FFH before (never even looked at it) so it should be fun.

I'll post the environs for each team tomorrow. I did really very minor edits. Boosted one faction a bit, and removed some ruins that were too close to capitals.

Only played the one FFH scenario in normal civ before seeing this and I'm struggling to get to grips with it in my 1st solo game.

However from the few hours I have played, it seems tech pace is considerably slower in FfH than in regular civ (although I did randomly get the Vampire civ which techs slowly according to one of the players)

Flauros or Alexis? If the former, beeline Aristocracy, lay farms everywhere. Also get Calendar for Agrarianism and Sanitation for +1F. You will tech better than any civ in the early/mid game (hard to beat the elves late game).

EDIT: And yes, the early game tech place is really slow. I think its a weak point of FFH, but others like the fact that it forces you to focus on military (also important because the wilds are way more dangerous than BTS.

Have now played nearly 10 games FFH2. Nice mod, interesting twists. Though the inital phase is reaaalllly slow. I decided to play on Quick because with some factions it even then takes 15+ turns to research a starting tech. On normal it really takes ages to be able to do more then spam warriors. I understand that they wanted to prolong the time for medieval warfare but I think they have overdone that feature.

What I really would be interested is if there is anywhere a overlook of the different terrains and possible improvements available.
