Hannibals:
I don't plan on using Hannibal or the A-Team as a theme, mind you. But that's what popped into mind...

ok, so, PB 9.
Some analysis.
I will admit to being slightly disappointed to get Hannibal of Native America - not that it's a bad combination, but I've played both of these before. Charismatic is good, financial is great, the UU is resourceless (nice on a random map, where copper might be in an inconvenient place) and the UB is useful, especially without barbs - 6 xp out of 8 needed for
Fishing/agri is an interesting combo - I will, almost certainly, have the ability to do something OTHER than research worker techs if I want to snag a religion early (which I might), especially mysticism is an important military tech.
I probably will go on a bit of a turtle - build a very light military heavy on archers. oracle for MC and triremes might be vital - forges might be very useful to me, since I get 0 free buildings. Of course, pottery is incredibly important, too.
One thing that is really nice about charismatic and a water map is that you can make 2 promo naval units pretty early on - either vassagle and theo or one of those and a GG.
Edited much later to add possible City names:
T.J. Hooker
CSI
JAG
The O.C.
V
Magnum, P.I.
True Jackson, VP
Mayberrym R.F.D.
Quincy, M.E.
Emerald Point N.A.S.
Marcus Welby, M.D.
The F.B.I.
CHiPs
ALF
Harper Valley, P.T.A.
The PJs
B.J. and the Bear
Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
S.W.A.T.

ok - analysis:
These are the pairings:
Twinkletoes: Isabella of France
Commodore/Brick: Augustus of Inca
Jowy: Pericles of Khmer
AutomatedTeller: Hannibal of Native America
Cornflakes/Q: Huayna Capac of Zulu
2metraninja: Sury of Mongolia
Azza: Louis of Rome
FIN: 2
IND: 3
SPI: 1
EXP: 2
IMP: 1
PHI: 1
CRE: 3
CHA: 1
I often think having the only one of a trait is good, so that I am unique in CHA and near unique in FIN is good.
Once again, Stonehenge is very useful for me. 3 teams are creative and don't need it. 3 of the teams are industrious, which would make them difficult competition... but one of those is one of the creative ones and another is Inca, who don't need it.
So, presumably, the people who will be going for stonehenge are:
Twinkletoes (Isabella of France)
Me (Hannibal of NA)
Cornflakes/Q (Huanya of Zulu)
Both of those players have an advantage - Twinkletoes will out-expand me, thus be able to get to it faster and Cornflakes will build it faster. Also, TT has better techs (wheel is better than fishing, unless we start with seafood and even then...)
We all want pottery (cheap granaries for TT, cottages for C/Q).
I suspect I'll try to build it and end up with some fail gold. We'll see.
that said, Stonehenge is significantly better for me than it is for the others, so it's a priority. Happy + XP makes Totem Poles basically vital in all cities. So, tentatively, my research path might well be mysticism->mining->BW

What about a Hannibal related city naming scheme? Cities like B.A., Face, Hamilkar, etc sound fun..

I was thinking that... or I was thinking of TV shows with acronyms... NCIS, A-Tem, Man from UNCLE, stuff like that. I'm not sure there are enough Hannibal-related names, is all.

Wow - that's a lot of food. Just what a charismatic civ needs to do a lot of whipping that's basically an awesome start for me.

I don't remember - are these randomized starts, or has there been an effort to normalize them to be similar?
