Nice effort so far, guys! As WM has stated, most of us have seen a lot of failed tries and remain a little bit sceptic. wink

I really like what I see so far, hopefully the quality of gameplay will match the quality of the visuals. Will there be moddability?

For the PC, Mac and Linux versions we are planning to give player quite a range of modding options. From changing the stats to add new stuff.

HOw much focus will there be on diplomacy? Will there be an allied victory option?

i just wish you had done everything in 2D. when i see 3D it's usually to impress people who don't care much about game mechanics, and it usually trades usability and strategy for better looks.

still, i'm watching your project with great interest. i especially like your plans concerning book requirements for spells (possible to get them with different combinations, and some spells requiring multiple realms - altough it looks like you'll need really LOTS OF spells if you include more than a handful of those). in case of doubt, better stick to how MoM did it =)

if you drop a design idea, for a spell for example, maybe you can keep the option for modders, just unused in your game.

I'm following the developments with interest.
Admittedly, after so many failed attempts at a remake of MoM, I'm kind of sceptical.
But your artwork looks amazing.
You seem to do a pretty good job at PR.
And the number of spells you mention suggests that your game will be even more feature rich than MoM is.
How are you doing with the AI?
Despite some criticisms on MoM's AI, I still haven't seen any AI that is better, especially not for such a feature rich game.

We are planning the diplomacy in a way that the AI will be able to handle it. I don't think it is good to implement features which can be only properly used by human player.

Creating such game in 2D is neither cheaper or easier than 3D.
The game is mechanics oriented, so the nice graphic is there to improve the experience and make it more appeal for those who like nice graphic.


We are planning the AI to use tactics which allows to complete goals which fulfill "greeds" of the AI players.

but 2D needs less space on the screen. you can transport more information, allowing for better strategy, or usability. at least that's the result when i compare 2D to 3D games. i stopped playing heroes of might and magic when they did the overland map in 3D (i think beginning with V, i loved I-III and IV was also ok) for that reason.
