I have played a little yesterday, and this is VERY similar to the previous installment, if not quite a remake in 3D. As such, I have a reasonable understanding of what's going on, albeit the details of all the development trees and the class system are new (skill research as such isn't). The major change to go along with the class system seems to be the absence of mana specialisms; previously nodes produced only a specific type, and if your wizard wasn't aligned with it, you had to "reconfigure" the node, losing its use for a while. The rest so far seems remarkably similar, if much better presented -- even most of the key icons are the same.
