New MoO announced

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-0...ion-reboot

What do you guys think? Hyped? Waiting for more details (like me)?

They kept referring to classic gameplay, and part of graphics from the teaser looks derived from MoO 1, so I wonder if the remake is based off of MoO 1? Maybe a combination of 1 and 2?
Dominus Galaxia, a Master of Orion inspired game I'm working on.

I'd love for this to be the real thing but I have zero trust, so we will see. I'll probably wait for someone else to buy it here before I do. Man I'd love to see it come out well though- some of my first computer gaming memories was oohing over the amazing grapids in moo2. I spent so many hours with moo 1 and moo2.

Yeah, I'm hopeful it will be good, but expecting it to be absolutely awful. It's being made by the "World of Tanks" developer, so the biggest fear is that it's going to be some DLC mess or a worse. I'll definitely keep an eye on it, since MoO/MoO2 are my favorite 4x games of all time, and some of my favorite games overall. However, I'm not confident in the development team capturing what makes MoO great and expect another nostalgia cash grab.

An Argentinian developer that no one has ever heard about before? Yeah, let's just say I won't be counting down the days until release. rolleye

No interest. No hope that they will even make par with MOO1. But I cheer for them!

only two days left! dancing

some info from here (in Russian):

1. the game in inspired (inspired as in game mechanics may mirror those in Moo2 BaA) by Moo2 Battle at Antares.
2. some people that made the original MoOs work in the Argentinian NGD Studios (?). the reason Wargaming chose them over others is because they had a working prototype to show the money men. Wargaming's current investment strategy is to find small teams with interesting games/prototypes and finance them. btw, the guy behind Total Annihilation is working in Wargaming Seattle on something secret. yikes
3. one tech tree for all races, but some techs are grouped in twos and the player can only choose one.
4. tech trading is in. as is espionage (tech stealing in particular).
5. there are ten races, each has unique ability(ies) and a favorite biome.
6. there will be fourteen different planet biomes ranging from ocean to desert (including swamp, terran, etc.).
6. sun (the star) can explode (?) and planets that orbit it will turn into an asteroid belt(s) (?)

An ideal strategy game would tone down efficiency challenges, while promoting choices and conflicts
