Genius Loki (FFH SG)

I realize that there's still currently one ongoing, but it appears to be stalled. I'm happy to wait for it to complete before launching a new game if that'll ensure 4+ players.


Anyway, I've got three ideas for EitB SGs I'd like to run.


Idea The First:

Most Extreme Elimination Challenge

Concept- High-to-Low + Increasing Difficulty + Raging Barbs + Final Five.

It can be done (I've managed twice), but it's a brutal setup- and a lot of fun! Success definitely not guaranteed.



Idea The Second:

Loki Challenge

Concept- OCC + Require Complete Eliminations (necessary to prevent a T1 elim) and we don't start with a Settler. The only cities the team can keep are those it manages to steal with Loki.



Idea The Third:

From Humble Beginnings

Concept- Similar to the Loki Challenge, including playing as the Balseraphs, except instead of starting with Loki we have an Adept with Channeling III, Mind III, and Perfect Sight (to defend against Spiders). Oh, and we aren't allowed to ever possess any cities- all units must be captured.



Of course I could turn any of the above into an Adventure instead, if there's interest.

Happy to play anything, but I can only sustain one at a time. If the other one resumes, I'll be taking a break from this one.

No.2 should be Furia, by the way.

Do you guys have any preference at all for which of the three we run with? Qg told me he prefers 1 or 2.

1 seems like the most "conventional" challenge, if probably the hardest. I imagine it would have to be a pretty large map and might turn into a slog at the end?

2 & 3 seem like they could play on smaller maps and might be more suited to an Adventure type of format than the first.

True, 1st one definitely is the hardest and might take a very long time to win. But the challenge is there indeed...

I'd probably prefer to play with 2.

got a cute idea you could do, although it might be more interesting as an PBEM/PB

make an extremely crappy map filled with Tundra, Ice, Desert, Marsh and the like, but otherwise with the regular distribution of resources. And give the player(s) a single worker with Nature III while banning Illians and maybe Malakim.

Who's the best one to keep their miracle worker alive, who's using him most efficiently

Yeah, that might be a fun PBEM or Adventure, but I don't think it could work as an SG.


Looks like there's a slight lean to going with option 2, I'll keep the signups open for a few more days and then we can discuss settings & get rolling!
