Cornflakes vs TheArchduke 4th Round

As I am doing a rather intensive reporting on PBEM #6 and #7, for my standards at least, I will keep reporting on this duel to a bare minimum but will try to provide a bit of info.

Designed map, continents, Norway against Japan, both naval orientated civs, this will be a bit longer game hopefully. Right now it is 2:1 for me in Duels.

As Germany is banned I think Japan is the best way to go on continents, good bonus in shallow waters and coasts and a good boost to district adjacency as Oledavy showed.

Anyway, the start.

Move Settler 1E as I do not see any other good start. Settling on culture would be nice, but the 2nd ring of those coffee tiles are terrible. +1faith may ensure me first dibs on pantheon, always a nice thing to have.

Cleared a barb camp with shallow water bonus, scout is suiciding against me. Found an industrial CS, going west next. Early settler en route to Plains Hill by the what I think is sea.

Quite some time after me, Cornflakes settles. Very belated we manage to eureka Astrology and put down Holy Sites.

Liking the city sites so far. Holy Site->Slinger->Settler

1st to Holy Site and district it seems, I will continue to push for infrastructure and other stuff heavily and ignoring anything else. Only the barest of barb defense for now and maybe a wall push with Bastions to be less susceptible to sea attacks for cities on sea.

Also only 1-2 sea zones as access for ships. I am sure Cornflakes will try some shenanigans with longships. I would.
