Hi All. This is my first RB report so I am still learning the rules and sorts of reports that 'work'. As it is, I played my game with mods (Blue Marble and Ruffs Cobbled SG Mod) so this will have to be a shadow report.
In fact - I am soooo new that I reported under the sticky - oops.
Results: Domination, 1930AD Score=19974. Fuller report to follow.

Here ( link) is the longer version of the write up. I only have 2 of 3 pages done so far - others should be up in about 2 hrs from now.

Ok, the 3rd and final page is up. As I said, this is my first RB report so I struggled to get the mix right. I think I had too much detail in the beginning and not enough in the end. Any feedback and suggestions re reporting would be much appriciated.

Oooh... I like the feather. I'm going to remember your civ site by the giant feather in the corner!
That's a nice dot map feature too, certainly much cleaner than the ones I draw. The second city placement is a good spot, but it's one tile off the coast, unfortunately. It may well have been worth it to put it there, of course, but something to think about!
You may also want to put a higher priority on hooking up the cows sooner. I know you had Animal Husbandry because I could see Toku's horses in your shot.
Referring to Tokugawa as "Tommy" is confusing me. I didn't realize that Tommy was a Japanese name...
Umm... your fifth opponent was Egypt, not Spain...
Wow, you didn't get to Astronomy until 1804? You weren't kidding about your economy being in the tank! That is one weird GNP graph at the end too.
The report was excellent, although you may want to get some more in-game screenshots so you don't have to rely on the replay at the end. But very, very good regardless, it was always easy to tell what was going on in the game. Thanks for putting the time and effort into a report, Ruff_Hi.

A very well-written report and a rather well-played game to boot. I do like your report style of inserting the end-game territory maps within the periods to which they correspond.
I'll agree with Sulla that "Tommy" confused me, along with Spain.
To the game, I was surprised that you declared on America when Egypt had just settled on your island. Did you not see it or was the Egyptian colony three ice tiles and a frozen river?
Your economy graph at the end is telling. I'm assuming this is all in maintenance costs. Did you have a Forbidden Palace or Versailles anywhere? Did you have courthouses? I guess I've never seen it that drastically bad before. I've had a lot of similar dominations, but I don't seem to recall ever going so far south.
Any extra insight as to what happened there?
All in all. Very good job, Ruff.
Edit: Oh and PS, I do love the look of Blue Marble. I might jot over to the mods post and re-read the arguments.

I knew there was a benefit of putting in on the coast but I must admit that I don't know what that benefit is.

I will be playing Adv8 with no mods at all this time! I got into the wars and was so busy killing people that it was 80 turns between screenshots. I am glad that the game has the map at the end so that I could recover some.

Did you not see it or was the Egyptian colony three ice tiles and a frozen river? America made the mistake of having a skinny piece of land. That meant that I could ship troops to within a few tiles of his cities. Hatty's land was a big fat circle and would (did eventually) have meant a foot slog just to get to the battle ground.

I had the FP in one of my extra capitals (cannot remember if it was Monty or Toku - prob Monty). I think it was mainly maintenance but I did have a whole bunch of troops too. I was lucky you get $ for capturing cities.

There's a couple, but the biggest one is the ability to build a lighthouse. If you settle off the coast but with a bunch of sea tiles in your radius they will only ever produce a single food and so are for most intents and purposes useless.
Being on the coast also offers Harbours (health & trade route income), better trade route access (oceanic as well as along the coast) and shipbuilding.

Ahhh. That's right. You were behind in tech, right? So your conquerin' was with three or four lesser attackers to every one modern defender? That and having to defend all the conquered cities can really drain on the unit upkeep.
I have gotten to the point where defending non-border cities isn't worth the +1 defense happy because of unit upkeep.

No - it was more like 1 on 1 (ok, maybe 2 on 1) Grenadier v Riflemen. Yes, they are behind in tech but not much and you obviously haven't seen my terrific luck in battles. The cannons helped too .
