having technical difficulties

I havent had a chance yet to upgrade to the latest patch, however I dont believe that is the issue, but im going to do that when I get home today from work. Would like to try one of these Eipc's

I can get into Civ 4 alright, but as soon as I start gameplay everything bogs down, the movies chop a little and map scrolling is rather tedius, now i dont believe that my current system should be the problem, I have tried toning down the graphics substantially but that doesnt seem to alleviate the problem. I've checked all my drivers too. <shrugs> at a loss

I am currently running an AMD Athlon XP+ 1700, on an MSI mobo, 1.5 gig DDR ram, an Nvidia FX 5200 vid card with 128 DDR onboard. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Response times issues were some of the things in the PATCH.
I notice better response time just going to 1.09, and 1.52 was better. I would patch the game and see if you still have issues.

Ok Ive gotten it patched and definitly in the early portions of the game (when there is less units running around) after 0AD things seem to bog down some still but its still moving pretty good a lot better than it was previously. The movies are still as choppy but the overall gameplay is much better I can live without the movies

Played a game yesterday, took it to about 1500 AD and man do I suck lol A lot different from Civ 3 thats for sure... guess I'll just have to reread some reports out here
