Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Q's Quietly Quitting Q Puns

Thanks! Yes I should have reported on that - I scouted the landmark using zoom t5ish. Cool story - I very much remember your lore entries for the mod smile

I just don't understand why he'd found there...however close it is to him, he has to know I can't let that stand as it'll cut off this entire region for me. Founding there (vs. 1W) is only to steal the wheat which is currently one tile from the borders of my second city (admittedly third ring) - the rest is jungle and it's pretty stunted till the borders pop. That close gives him opportunities to hit me with his worldspell later on.

I must confess I was expecting slightly more land on this map - I feel quite constricted in the land I've been able to claim - albeit there's an area in here and to the south towards Bing.

Sigh. I guess it's a duel of Worldspells while Auro ... does stuff.

Not got any other options to suggest Iiam.

Haha looks like you might be having your own ploy done against you soon

Yeah well there's no forests there and it doesn't work on jungles, so there's no immediate threat. But long term post PoL is dangerous.

And yeah I think this throws to Auro. I haven't met Mig but the score suggest Auro is outpacing him expansion wise.

I would put chance to win at 60% Auro, 20% Coldrain, 10% Mig and 10% me before this. Probably overrating me there, but just roughly. After this I would say 75% Auro, 10% Coldrain, 10% Mig and 5% me. I don't think this is a winning move but accepting it would guarantee my irrelevance.

T53:
He planted the city. He has a disciple there, so it should pop borders t58.

I will plant mine turn after next, t55.

Finished HBR this turn. I will finish a stable ~eot56. I can save 87gpt (likely less once city is planted). It costs 53g to upgrade a scout. I finished two scouts this turn, hopefully can get two-three more out by then. From the upgrade tile my units need one turn of movement before they can attack the city the turn after - i.e. if I upgrade units t57, I can invade t59. That means I can't attack before his city pops borders. So he will have +45% (from city defence plus hill).

He lost a lot of power last turn - maybe a hunter? I don't think he'll have much there. He has two warriors (one C2/Sh) a turn or so away, and a hunter (C1/SA) on the city tile. Let's say one more warrior or hunter. Three decent defenders and one that's mostly food.

I'd feel safe I think with 6 horsemen that I can get away without my worldspell. Perhaps 7 - I need to test this. I've been playing the turns too fast. I should also have 3ish warriors who could attack the same turn if I use the worldspell, or the turn after otherwise. Killing it from the fog (staging tile is in the fog) makes it harder for his worldspell to rescue him.

Do I try to keep it? The big implication of that is whether I spread OO to the new city. If I don't, then I can get away without only if I use my worldspelll. If I keep it, I need to be counting treeants - I suspect its 3-4 that can reach. (If so, we retreat and come back in 5t for more).

Delayed the city because his hunter moved up - but that means it won't be fully fortified when we attack.

This honestly makes me wonder if burning his city is the right decision. I thought Bing was here because his scout was coming from this direction. He must be further west.

Still, the city is too dangerous. Treeants can hit my first city, and there will be no comfortable border there.

Looking alright, honestly. A tad behind Auro, but not impossible.

oh the south being clear (for now) for settlement is a great find, probably boosts your chances by 10% alone. Agreed its best to deal with that city now and hopefully wrangle with the treants, though honestly if I had to guess he wont pop it unless you send a stack deeper in to the forests -- since it doesnt seem like there's anywhere from his current core a wave could hit you other than the new city
