RBP3 [SPOILERS] National Pastime (Rapoleon_Hi of the Aztecs)

Quote:I checked F4 and it does not appear that they have met (at least I clicked on both their names and there were no lines between them, so I think that's right, right?)

So while I agree that Krill seems like the type to mess with players minds, at least this time he appears not to be :-)

Quote:DJ Civ,

HA! Well, I guess a more accurate statement would be that someone other than Krill is looking to mess with people's minds. I would say that Krill is ALWAYS looking to mess with people's minds.

Thanks for the info. F4: Yeah - no line, no meeting. Don't even need to click on their heads.

No, but there is a "Wrap quote tags around selected text" tool in the forum editor.
I have to run.

Turn 32...

- Finished sheep farm. Mmm, mutton. Settler finishes in 11 turns as of this moment

- Eastern warrior encounters a bear moving straight west of him. I update the bear location marker. I move this warrior onto the forested hill...which unfortunately places him next to a lion, and I aint lyin.

- Western warrior can get back to city site in 5 turns if he moves this turn. That means he can get away with another few turns west if we must. In light of that, the more revealing hill forest SW is the move to get us more tiles, a chance to see them, and the ability for india to coordinate our movement.

I will have screenshots in shortly. Edit: uploaded.

Turn 33 situation (no moves yet)

- Warrior survived the lion, 1.7 strength right now.

- Suggested worker move is plains hill ---> mine it.

- India got a border pop, so it is very possible they gained sight of the scout we are looking for, thus I'm not moving just yet. I can go north to go scout hunting briefly, or hang SE and loop back up.

OK, I'm back from my trip and can step in as/when needed. Doesn't look like I currently am, so I won't. tongue

Well, in the absence of clear instructions, I guess I'll have to take some executive decisions.

Worker move as indicated onto Plains Hill; will start Mine next turn.

Eastern Warrior - will stay in place and heal for 1t. There is a new Bear 2S1W of him who we will watch closely. If it moves N (i.e. 1SW of Warrior), then I would suggest sticking in-place and letting it attack a full-strength Warrior with 10% fort bonus, on a forest hill, across a river ... gotta be good odds, right? If not, I'd recommend NE on the only nearby defensive terrain (bare hill).

Western Warrior - no clear guidance on this one. Bit late to swing North for de-fogging, so I'll move SE onto a forest and reveal max tiles:

IBT: nada. Bear moves out of sight, so SW, S, or SE.

BTW, I don't remember seeing a note in the thread that Stonehenge was built a few turns ago (got 3g) ... by DJCiv next door!

Suggestions for t34 (which in the absence of guidance I will play this evening):

Worker has started Mining the Plains hill.

West Warrior: without intel from Indi, I'd suggest SE and then maybe again before swinging back NE to the city site.

Eastern Warrior: 1.9/2h, so could stay in-place for another turn to complete healing, but we can see that the SE plains are empty and maybe now is a good moment to go SE to cross to that forest?

Turn 34 looks simple enough to just go. I apologize for dilly dallying and then not making it back in time. In the future I'll just do the moves if I don't hear back quickly enough.

- Eastern warrior: It does look like an ok move to go now, but I've been ninja'd by panthers too many times in the past after moving like that (and it would have substantially better odds vs us at 1.9 str). We can see anything that turns into an issue on the hill anyway, so this warrior is left in place 1 more turn

- Western warrior SE. River forks into west and east paths. Reveals 2 grass forests and a plains forest. We might want to move this warrior straight E before heading back NE, as the fog tile north of the grass hill does not appear to be forested.

- My fortunately more attentive stand-in started to mine the hill already this turn.

I noted the border pop for india and given their lack of religion/creative knew they must have had SH, but forgot to mention it banghead. They do have it, yes.

I'm doing this and ending the turn before I get yet another PM from krill telling me to hurry up...rolleye.

guys - thx a bunch for standing in for me. For the record, you can totally ignore anything from Krill ... totally.

I don't see any instructions from India re meeting Krill but I assume that Western will turn NE onto the hill next turn and start heading NE to defog and back to city site - is that correct?

Tryig to look under the fog, it seems like the tile 3E of the Warrior in my last screenie is a Hill. If so, then standing on it should de-fog the tiles further North which both look flat, so I tend to agree with TMIT that straight E next turn (onto the plains hill) and then NE from there will de-fog the most on the way back.
