First in GNP, food and population. Last in MFG . Sounds about right.
I must be really ahead of anyone else in research, since I'm at 100% research and I don't have any extra culture coming in. Parkin, for example, is getting 8 extra culture to boost his GNP.
I'm kind of wishing I'd gone for polytheism now, since it seems like no one else is racing me to the oracle. Oh well.

I think I see now why the Dutch didn't want to argue with me over that chokepoint. Look what I found to the west.
That's a REALLY good city spot. Corn, fish, and gems, while the mountains block off land to the northwest. I wonder if there's any way I can claim this for myself? I'd really like a source of gems, to go with my forges. Maybe I can arrange some sort of trade with the Dutch.
edit: nevermind, apparently I forgot to take a picture. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. It's a site slightly to the west of the wines location, with fish, freshwater corn, and a gems grassland hill.

That's the site I was talking about yesterday. I've named my scout Scout Finch, after the main character in To Kill A Mockingbird. I'm assuming that the Dutch capital is up the peninsula to the north, but I'm not sure. Parkin sent his warrior up there, and he promised to tell me what he discovers.
On another note, I'll finish mediation next turn (6 points), and then the turn after that I'll grow 2 pop (4 or 5 points). Am I seriously about to catch up to Parkin in score, despite his wonder? Weird. I guess that's what happens when everyone else researches the expensive techs of Animal Husbandry and Bronze Working, while you research cheap religious techs and build expansive workers. It still surprises me, though.

Finally we can get this underway again
There was a delay of several days here while we replaced WarlordDr with a new player, WarriorKnight, and had to wait for Sunrise to get back from a film festival to make the change.
A lot of score increases this turn. Looks like WarriorKnight and Locke increased in pop, while plako and Adlain researched a new Ancient tech. I also finished meditation this turn, which puts me within striking distance of Lord Parkin for number 1 in score .

Well here we are... I grew two pop this turn and almost got the number one spot in score. I'm way in the lead for population, food, and GNP.

It's not really as good as it looks, though. I can only assume that the reason my population is so much higher than anyone else is because they're all building workers and settlers, using hammers instead of food. Except for Parkin who still has just 1 city, and it's size 4 .
In the south, I've discovered Plako. I'll need to say hello to him.
And I had a brief chat with Parkin last night.
Quote:Parkin: Hi there
Parkin: Nothing much new, just letting you know I found mackoti's borders
Me: oh cool
Parkin: His capital is 17W 4S of yours, if I remember correctly... will double check later

So I had an interesting chat with Plako yesterday. He told me he knows where everyone is located:
Quote:plako: Statung from me and going east it is me-WK-Adlain-Locke-Nakor/Gaspar
in the north it shuold be you-LP-Rego-Sleeping-Ioan-you
me: sounds about right
and it seems like the E-W distances are much shorter than the N-S distances
plako: How long are M-s?
*N-S
There are some variations in the W_E
me: I think your city that i can see is about 30 tiles south Parkin's capital
plako: about double then to average W-E
I'm going to use the warrior that I have down there to go west and make contact with Nakor/Gaspar (good to get as many of the tech discouts as possible).
And, this in particular was very interesting:
Quote:"Minor" revelation. I hope you don't spread this around, but I'm in war with WarriorKnight ;-)
That explains a lot about why WarlordDr suddenly quit and had to be replaced! I guess the lurkers will know a lot more about that than me. This also explains why Plako's thread has so many views and posts. Anyway, it seems like he'll be focused on building settlers and attacking WarriorKnight, and won't be building any wonders. Good news for anyone chasing the GLH. (Wonder if I can still get it lol)
In the game, not much happening that I can see. Plako and Sunrise have both founded another city. Parkin increased 5 points, which I think means he grew 2 pop (he has 2 cities now). Priesthood will finish in 2 turns, so I've microed murphys to get the granary as close as possible to completion this turn, so that it will have the maximum overflow into the oracle. Some other score increases as well- I've sort of given up on tracking all of them, and I gave up a long time ago on trying to figure out who's researching what.

I've finished priesthood, which puts me tied with Parkin for the lead. Wooo. I guess part of the reason I'm doing so well there is that I haven't switched to slavery (just now starting bronze working lol). But, mostly it's the cheap religious techs.

Wow, this is big! Plako just captured a city from WarriorKnight! I feel sorry for WarriorKnight, stepping into the game at such a bad moment. Hopefully he can prevent Plako from capturing any more.
What's really weird is that it happened AFTER Plako ended his turn. We were just waiting on WarriorKnight to end turn. I wonder if the city was actually a gift, to end the war?
