If you let DaveV take everyone down one by one, I'm not sure you'll be able to stop him once he comes for you (even with your worldspell).

I don't need many turns to finish Serdoa and my troops are very badly placed to change gears now. It is pretty close to the situation where DaveV has this in the bag. Only thing keeping this alive is my world spell. I could consider firing it now though to slow him down, but I wouldn't be able to fully take advantage of it so I think ti would be a mistake.

I was planning to grab Gibbon, but I could also put all capture gold on Firebows too and attack after Serdoa has gone, but that takes close to 10T before my trooops are in postion. There probably aren't Ichabod to save then.

This version of EitB restored the might of the Spectres.

I made a big mistake going towards Sorcery through Elementalism and not through Necromancy. I don't see any other option than firing my world spell to get my troops in position and try to get enough Firebows and Mages after its effects wore down to defend myself. I guess all my nodes need to be Death too. My civics are not optimal for max unit production, but I don't see me changing them unless I get a golden age and that is quite far away.

So I've 14 turns to prepare myself. Fireballs are decent alternative against Spectres in offense because of neing elementals, but I need something that can also defend against them effectively. I'll search for units immune or resistant to death damage from civilopedia, but if some of you can give hints the would be welcome.

After looking at it Pit Beast's would be pretty good defenders against Spectres and I wouldn't need to devote all my nodes to Death. I think Deception next to get Gibbon and possibly try to raze something with fireballs now.

Anything undead will ignore the Spectre's death damage, just facing the 3 normal Str. That includes spectres without death mana boosts.

The problem is that my best potential undead units will be skellies+Spectres. I won't get upper hand spamming those. As demons pit beasts are also immune to death damage so they are 4,5 vs 3 against spectres and can also see another turn, if victorious. Naturally they do worse against everything else, but Spectres are their most dangerous units by far.

Jesus, who on earth decided that S7-8 Spectres were a good idea after all? I mean, come on, I thought this was pretty much decided after PBEM 2?

Any plans on countering naval (OO) invasions?

Did he declare just now? Any chance of getting Arcane Lore?

Are you able to support Ichabod in any way?

Answers: DaveV just declared. There is nothing I can do to prevent OO attacks wink. Arcane Lore is not possible in any reasonable time frame. Firing Lacuna was best support I could give to Ichabod. Any unit I could send there is few turns away.

This turn DaveV continued his attack without Spectre's. That is a very bad idea. I should be able to handle the current threats pretty easily now that I can bring bulk of my forces towards our common border. He should be patient and just wait for my world spell effects to end.

What do you think about Diseased Corpses?

Corpses require too much beakers.

Used my last ace in the hole and casted Peace and forced DaveV's units out of my territory. He is putting quite a bit of pressure even without summons or Haste. It is highly annoying that you can't pillage roads on your own territory.
