[SPOILERS] Thoth and Mardoc Pretend Piracy Pays as Pacal of Portugal

t22: Our first cottage completes next turn. Hodor is almost back but has two wolves within range to attack so there is a non-zero chance he might snuff it IBT

T25:

Still have no actual good second city sites. 2a and 2b will do if there is nothing better in the fog but I don't like either of them.

Two of us currently have size 4 capitals, I'll hit size 5 at end of turn.

I've got Krill's graphs: Culture graph indicates he finished a Terrace in his capital a couple of turns ago.

I still haven't met anyone else besides Krill yet, but I'm hoping GermanJoey is one of my neighbours as he seems to have gotten off to a very weak start.

2c could go on the forest 1 N of the forested Deer ph to the east of 2a. It would need a border pop for the Fish (the only real food supply for this site) but would have shared PH sheep and 3/3 Forested Deer PH. It wastes a forest but might be better as a 2nd city than 2a. 2b needs more scouting to evaluate properly. As is, it gets grass cows inner ring and seafood outer ring but no shared specials with Davros.

Pindicator built his 2nd city t25. Damn good even for Joao.

I'll finish a Pier in Davros at eot. T27 I start on Settler and pick up cottage #2. That plus the pier will take me from 12 bpt to 17 bpt.

Settler whip due t32.

Still looking for a 2nd city site. *sigh*

t27: Nothing much other than finally starting the settler at 12 foodhammers per turn. I'll whip it t32 with 60 h invested. The overflow will allow a 1t Archer and I've enough food in the box to grow back to size 4 in 1t. I'm leaning towards 2c as the second city. Shares Sheep has inner ring forested plainshill Deer and outer ring Fish. I'll have a better picture of the West in a few turns. I'll start roading the cottage 6 of Davros t28. If Hodor sees something awesome in the fog on t30 then Hodor can move through the capital and start roading the same turn.

Davros is starting to look sexy. 7 more turns and the first cottage turns into a 4 commerce hamlet.

Krill still hasn't pastured his Mutton, but he does have Hunting:

Demos: Note that I'm the only one with a size 5 cap, there is one size 4 and Pindicator is the only one to have settled a second city.

I'm figuring on teching Sailing next and whipping out a bunch of archers and galleys to rush Krill with.

I don't like 2c. But I suppose I hate it less than your other options, and you've got to expand somewhere...

Yeah. I don't like it either. I'm hoping there is another food in the fog near 2b to make that a viable 2nd city site. If not, 2c seems to be the least bad of the options.

Civstats shows GermanJoey joined Pindicator in the 2 city club. I'll probably be last to 2 cities but I'm ok with that given the craptastic nature of the current expansion opportunities.

28 & 29 played.

Revolted to Slavery (Krill got there a turn ahead of me). GermanJoey founded Buddhism t28.

I'm strongly considering Polytheism next. I'll finish Myst end of t30.

From there: Mining or Poly or Masonry. Mining/masonry/bronze is the safe path. Gets me sight on copper, mines, and chopping all of which is good.
Poly gets me an early religion and/or sets me up for a quick run up to Monotheism. Mono isn't useful unless I either found the religion or already have at least Meditation, preferably Med and Phood. OR allows missionaries without Monasteries and gives +2 hammers for Monasteries and Temples (it also boosts Conservatories and Cathedrals but those are later).

Skipping the monk techs and staying in Paganism (+2 commerce from Monuments) is also a possiblity. That would allow earlier Writing,Sailing, and Iron Working.

But Monarchy got a nice boost (+5 gold, beakers and hammers in the capital) and Feudalism is cheap in SMEG mod and Vassalage got a nice boost as well.

hmmmm.

and of course there is Sailing/IW/Compass for Fitoriuas and uber water tiles.

Looks like I'll be ignoring the top of the tree for awhile.

T30 we finally revealed some new tiles:

Worth a city but flat desert gold isn't all that sexy for my 2nd city. #3 or #4 I think.

t32: Whip settler
t33: Move settler. Archer completes in Davros. Davros grows to 4 at eot.
t34: Settle Lavender. Start warrior in Davros.
t37: Davros site 5 (unhappy). Start Worker.
t38: Whip Davros worker (2 pop)
t39: Overflow into worker. (size 3). New worker moves to start chop.
t40: Swap back to warrior. Chop begins (need Masonry by eot 39)
t41: Grow to size 4 eot. Chop t2
t42: 1 Whip unhappy gone. Swap back to worker. Chop completes. Worker should complete eot.
t43: Start settler. worker 2 and 3 move to chop. Davros needs Sheep, Corn and a 3 food hammer tile this turn.
t46: Both chops complete
t47: Settler done at end of turn.
t48/49: Grow to size 5.
