I don't understand how someone can have 35k land area. Did someone build stonehenge ? It's too early for cre third ring no ?

No Henge yet. Yes, too early for nerfed Cre. Maybe someone got an event? Or maybe someone Cre managed to get a city built much earlier than we did, somehow?

I went ahead and revolted to Slavery immediately. We're working unimproved tiles, so we can use the anarchy to let the workers catch up - could use the whip to help there too.

I'm not 100% sure what the capital should build next. Warrior, in order to grow for a 5->3 whip instead of 4-2? A second settler immediately? Or a third worker? Tentatively I'm thinking warrior makes the most sense, followed by a quick settler (whipped).

We will have copper as soon as we find some culture:

And we're about to lose a scout. At least he may give the bear some XP, make it harder for Fenn to clean up.

I don't think animals get xp. This is not FFH wink

Copper is pretty lucky. I think we need more military before another settler, just one warrior (and maybe bring back the scouting one for MP ?)

That should be doable. Stegasaur is working on a warrior, and I can probably get a warrior built from T.Rex too.

But this won't happen pre-settler. He's just too far away. I'd really rather do a loop around Jowy before he comes back - if we don't scout his territory now, we're not likely to have another chance.

I think we might have enough information now to finish our dotmap:

If we can grab most of the land in the screenshot, we'll still be ahead of our neighbors. It seems very unlikely for us to be able to grab anything more than this, though. Then we have a fair few backlines cities, of course, but we know that land now too.

Going to mull this over for a bit.

Demos don't look quite as happy after a turn of anarchy. 2 turns til Warrior, then I'm planning to swap to settler; I think I can have it finish in two turns more with a chop + whip, and with some overflow to dump into a third worker.

I suppose Fenn will take some of the south though.
More workers and settlers is great, as long as we have some warriors around.
I'm still dancing about the copper location, we're seriously lucky here.

Yeah, and Jowy's likely to grab some more of the east. This isn't a straightforward problem - it's a combination of 'how much are we likely to be able to grab', 'how do we defend what we take', and 'what are the best places for cities, given those constraints'.

Yeah, it's tricky. We'd be at two warriors for three cities/three workers if I follow that plan directly. But...Tyrannosaur can 2-turn warriors now, Stegosaur is working on a warrior too, the third city would likely start with a warrior as well...I think it's a reasonable gamble for now. I'd be tempted to slip in another warrior, except we've a chop coming in three turns that I really want to get the +60% on.

Do bear in mind this is a handmade map mischief. All Commodore had to do was dangle tasty enough bait in the copper direction smile.

I think if we don't get one of Buddhism/Hindu, we'll need to build a monument here. Otherwise we're waiting way too long for metal. I'm tempted to start the monument before we get to Pottery, even, just to be safe.

I wouldn't start a monument too soon because we could chop it later on for a faster build (no hammers lost if we end up with a religion).

My warrior comment was just something to keep in mind, I think we're fine right now (and we don't have Egypt or Zulu on our border for an early rush).

We could chop it now...

Ok, more seriously, on the current trajectory we have at least three cities before religion, maybe four. Can't count on it to land in Stegosaur, even if we could count on actually getting it in the first place. But yeah, for now we need warriors more than copper, and shortly we'll need granaries more than copper. Just...can't wait too long.

Ah, I see. Yeah, that makes sense. It's not actually profitable to settle a city we promptly lose, and barbs are due to start spawning any turn now. That said, being in Slavery on a hilly map means our emergency production rate is pretty good, so I don't want to overdo it in the other direction either. Will be easier once we get a road net up.

Actually a religion would likely spawn in Stegosaur because it would be the biggest city outside the cap
