Lurker request: could you post a screenshot of your border with MJMD in the south, or a zoomed out picture of the general situation in the jungle/peak area?

Sure I haven't scouted much south, so there's not a lot of detail
this is using the strategy layer. I know where Charriu's cap is, though I never did get vision on it. One thing I don't really understand is the borders north of it - it looks like the city there has popped 100 cp, which makes me think it is a holy city - might have great wall, but the wall is only 2 culture. either something is in there or i'm missing something.
I'm speculating as to where Mjmd's cap is. I am honestly unsure why they were at war for so long - it looks like there is plenty of room down there for each of them.
I am guessing, now, there is a bridge between jowy and charriu down south and that charriu is attacking along that, but I don't know.
I have a warrior walking south into Mjmd land to have a better view.
this the detail I know. As you can see, I don't actually yet border Mjmd, but I will once borders pop. I'm not really all that close to Charriu and, frankly, there's no good sites to settle between us anymore. The jungle will likely be a good buffer between us for a while, now that he's settled that corn. I'll settle those dyes at some point, but may not until civil service.
I hope those help

Thanks! Didn't realize that you were already basically bordering MJMD. Looking forward to more reporting!

It wasn't asked for, but here is a similar shot of me and MrCairo
An interesting contrast is pindicator's land:
a lot of green, a lot of tightly packed cities. I don't think I have any overlap in any of my cities yet. That is mostly because of the land - only place I think I could have overlapped with the cap was for a city NE of the cap, and my food is significantly further away. Weeks went to the closest spot I could put a city down there - plains cow is a fine tile, but not as the sole food. Deck is actually closer than where it might have been better.

I know lurkers want blood, but I think I'm going to go calendar before construction. I've got quite a few more sites I can expand peacefully to - marble, rice island, clam NE of the city, jungle banana - all of which have at least useful food - the clam one isn't great, but it can share rice from the cap while the cap is at the happy cap. There's also that island near polynesian, but I am guessing Jowy gets to that first. I'd really like that, to protect polynesian. Plus I can settle the inner horse if I really want. Anyway - that's the next 10-15 turns of settler production from weeks and deck, I think.

Turn 90
Founded B
This should be able to share the cow from the cap on occasion. This will end up being Moai, probably built through whip overflow
Demos
3rd in food means getting better.
pindicator has a warrior exploring up north, near street. I'm debating killing it. A) anything to inconvenience a leader B) I don't have to worry about him taking a shot at a worker in on the border. In the big PB, he did whack an exploring WB of mine (adlers, but I was playing it by then)
btw - 8 cities, 1 behind the leaders. Have research on calendar while I run at 0% for awhile, might go currency first. Maybe need to put together a sim for this decision.

Charriu: copper, stone, horse. Dunno why he doesn't have any luxes hooked up. Has the great wall, for some reason. I'm guessing he has iron working and his spike is gallic warriors. Maybe he thought great wall gave him walls everywhere?
That waa the Civ 2 implementation, right? Or was it still there in 3?

Civ 2, I guess. Civ 3 doubled the effects of walls.
I don't actually think that he thought it gave him walls everywhere, of course. I think he built because A) he has stone and B) barbs were a problem.

Lurking here my impression has been people generally justify it with the GG points (and GPP?) (disclaimer:I haven't read what Charriu has said admit it, if he did)

Well, I almost lost a city to the barbs, so it's not a horrible pick up. Monarch barb axes are no joke. He probably sent an axe or 2 my way that would have gone towards him.
