I shouldve given a land bridge to Mr. Cairo from SD.

I think Charriu is going to get his cities back from AT and then some. Jowy sounds amenable to exiting the war, and if he does so and gives Charriu 10T peace for it, he might be able to do some damage. I'm not sure I'd be in such a rush to get out of I'm Jowy, though.

Charriu posted this in his thread:
Charriu Wrote:No, game is more or less lost for me. I can't really stop Jowys better army and Mjmd is observing a turn split with me. I also want to teach AT a lesson never to start a dogpile vs me. If Jowy hadn't attacked I could have repelled his attack. Everybody who declares on me stays in the war till the bitter end.
It sucks being on the wrong end of a 2 vs 1 situation and Charriu did a nice job of punishing AT's slow-moving stack when it overreached. However, there's a reason why Charriu's neighbors are unhappy with him, and it's because he's been needlessly provacative towards them. There's no reason to settle a city like this:
KeenIce Witches is the worst kind of city: holds little value, extends a hostile border, difficult to defend, certain to piss off your neighbor:
Mjmd Wrote:1st I need to build a small stack to take care of this blatant WTF?? I saw Charriu placed a city and I was wondering if it was down in the region to claim the beaver. I did not expect that spot..... I assumed it would be 1E. I don't know how I'm supposed to take this other than to build a stack to go kill it.
Then there was the time that Charriu declared war to kill a Jowy worker on the border... on Turn 107 of the game!
Jowy Wrote:I log in to find out AT took my peace offer with his stack in range of my empty city, and instead I'm in war against Charriu?! As I was writing this, I was jokingly thinking of a naval invasion from a random civ. Now I'm actually a little bit scared that Charriu is dropping troops with galleys. Or he just wants to kill my worker on the border?
It does look like the war was just to steal a worker. In any case I've sent units to the coast to keep an eye on it. Continuing with military builds. We are #3 in Soldiers now.
There's no way that a single worker that costs 60 foodhammers is worth annoying your neighbor with this kind of war declaration, not when workers are cheap and easy to build 100+ turns into the game. Ironically, the only neighbor that Charriu didn't needlessly antagonize was Automated Teller who started this round of conflicts. But any invasions that he faces from Jowy and Mjmd definitely feel like they were provoked with these silly actions. (I think Jowy has done the best job with the diplomacy in the east, refusing to get sucked into an unprofitable war with AT, showing his neighbors that he would give up reach locations but stop anyone trying to push on his core, and eventually flipping the Mayans into an ally.)

MJMD's passive "let me build" attitude has been a huge mistake, just as his "let me go to war over a small insult" was at turn 50. He could have done immeasurable damage to charriu, and been the one with the most to gain from the war with the largest flood-plain area on the map, all with limited military investment compared to someone like pindi or charriu. It's still not TOO late, but charriu's army is pretty solid and moving into the areas near where MJMD should have been launching an attack.

This game is a lot of fun to watch, but all but one or two players are doing truly mystifying things. Charriu is about to survive, and there’s absolutely no reason that should be true. AutomatedTeller just threw away his whole military after declaring war with not nearly enough to begin with, and now Cairo is talking about only taking a single city off him for some reason? Mimd was in theory the biggest winner of all from this dogpile, but he built MoM instead. Now he can see two AT cities defended by one total unit, and he’s debating whether to invade because he’s worried about pindicator opening a two front war? Jowy spending turns bombarding giving his opponent more time to whip when he had plenty of units?
I love all of it.

I think pindicator's expansion simply has been more lopsided than that of the other players, with there being little north of the capital - that's the source of all that maintenance - distance

Poor Pindicator, hard not to root for the guy, but Mjmd is absolutely timing his knight attack right. Not going to win without hamstringing Pindicator *before* he snags Pyramids and Great Lighthouse.

I've still been assuming this whole time that he's going to win because I'm skeptical of the skill levels of the other contenders, but... I think the real game may soon be pindicator vs his own morale.
