RPB3 SPOILERS Bismarck of India (regoarrarr, darrelljs, sooooo, sunrise089)

Ruff wants to know if he can send a couple of Workers over, fake DoW, have us capture them (to convert to Fast Workers), then gift them back. Ruff would be supplying the escort of course.

My vote is yes.

I'd vote yes too, though maybe we could ask him to use them to create a road between our lands?

Or at least part of one, or at least enough to get us trade routes

sunrise, we need to kill that barb warrior 2NW of KT. We have two Warriors in teh city that can attack out. We also have a Warrior/Archer able to move into KT. What do you think?

The other option is to put both those warriors on the forest guarding our worker and let the barb suicide on them.

Okay here is where we're at

We have 4 workers, A, B, C and E. E was built in Happy Hour this turn and moved this turn into the Karaoke Tuesday city square. A has already chopped this turn. B and C still have movement this turn.

The green numbers are the number of chops on each forest square. We need all 3 of these forests chopped by the end of next turn (T77) or we delay the HG.

It was all good till Barby McBarberson showed up (circled in Black). We need to have a worker on both those forests, and the warrior would threaten both of them.

Luckily we have 2 warriors inside KT, and a warrior / archer nearby.

Here is my recommendation.

C moves 1N, chop, cancel
B moves 1SW, chop, cancel (so both workers are on the forest tile 2W1N of KT).
Both warriors move from the city square also onto the sale tile 2W1N of KT.
The other warrior / archer move inside KT.

If the barb warrior attacks our 2 warriors / workers, if it doesn't die (which it should - it should only have about 15% odds), it will be wounded and we can clean it up next turn. We have 2 warriors on the tile so we won't lose our workers. If it moves SE towards KT we whack it on flatland next turn. Worst thing would be if it moves 1E onto the (now) empty forest. If that's the case we'll have to use some combination of our 3 warriors and archer to get rid of it.

Next turn (T77), assuming the HG doesn't fall on the inter-turn
C stays in place, finishes chop
A stays in place, finishes chop
B moves 1NE, chops
E moves NW-N onto the same tile as B, finishes chop.

T78 we enjoy our big ol garden.

The other option would be to use our 2 warriors to attack the barb. First one has 50/50 odds and the 2nd one should win no problem, but if we DID happen to lose both battles, that would be "A Bad Thing"

Regoarrarr's plan is good. The only change I made was to also move Red Label back into our core. If the barb warrior moves 1SE Red Label can kill it and reach the Sentry promo.

Game is paused right now, so I could not calculate an ETA for Aesthetics.

I have company coming into town and will be pretty spotty the next four days. I should be able to do the city/Worker management, but if not I will post.

Mail from Byz, I will try to put a draft together:

Quote:Catchy email subject, huh? smile

We have a few (confidential) items for you.

First, regarding contacts- the Portuguese have informed us that scouting units from both the Aztec and Ottoman empires are either in or near your borders, apparently trying to make make contact with Babylon and my civ. I'd certainly like to meet both of them, and would greatly appreciate any assistance in this regard. As I understand it I can reach Ruff in a turn or two by sending the Normandy SW along your roads, and then find the Ottomans soon after, but I'm basing that on directions from Mukha which were second or third-hand. On a related note, if you would like assistance in reaching other civs just let us know & we'll be happy to help however we can.

About the first global conflict, Rome vs. Portugal- just a heads-up that we'll be staying out of this one for the most part, but Rome is a friend, and if things take a turn for the worse for them we may end up having to send them some aid. I don't know what your relations are like with Portugal, or what your policies are regarding assisting them / other CANaanites, but it is a possiblity we could find ourselves in the (hopefully very unlikely) situation of both of us gifting troops to help fight each others allies via proxy. We should be honest & upfront with each other about any plans to send troops into that conflict, so that we can avoid or at least mitigate the scenario I've described.

For the second, and more important, global conflict, I'm not sure how much you know about this, but both England and Egypt have declared war on France. The attack is rather predictable, and I had mentioned in chat that I foresaw this coming a while ago. At the time you noted that it would be troubling if Krill & England were so willing to turn on a supposed fellow CAN member, and I can confirm from chats / emails with Morgan of France that the situation is most troubling indeed. It seems that England and Egypt deliberately lead France on with false promises of tech trading and cooperation while never intending to fulfill their pledges; yet at the same time they were all too eager to claim France as a CAN member, presumably for recruiting and morale purposes. As a result France was left technologically weak and befit of NAPs so that their supposed "allies" could most easily pick them apart & split the spoils. I can confirm all of this with my various saved chat logs and other correspondence with France, but while they remain in the game I would need their consent first before I could forward most of it on to you; several of my conversations with Morgan are protected by confidentiality agreements.

As France was my initial go-to guy for tech feudalism, and their situation seems rather dire, I think it would be obviously prudent for either Maya or my civ to research the tech instead; currently we (byz) will be going for maths, but I think we should have our hands free after that. This is one of the subjects that we need to discuss with Maya in group chat, but as noted in that email thread, there's no urgent immediate need.

On a final note, how does a blanket "do not share conversations/chats/emails/correspondence between India and Byzantium with third parties unless explicitly allowed" non-disclosure arrangement sound? I don't like including hectoring secrecy reminders in all my chats / emails, but given the very sensitive nature of most of what our civs have discussed, it's probably necessary for both of us.

Draft...does anyone know if we have Ottoman units in our borders?

Quote:We're good with the blanket it note, it saves us time in the future :-).

The Aztecs have a Warrior healing in HH right now, you can meet him fairly easily. The Ottomans <INSERT HERE AFTER CHECKING IN GAME>.

As you might expect Portugal has been pressing us to join in against Rome. We've demurred, basically stating we lack the capability to meaningfully contribute. They had promised us a Settler as compensation for torpedoing our peace deal with Sumeria, but its delivery has been delayed now three times. They had what seemed like valid reason each time but needless to say our suspicions are aroused. Anyway, our biggest problem with Rome is that they don't seem to like us. We've had cordial e-mails but they have never extended an olive branch in our direction (to be fair, I don't think we have either, at least not in an obvious manner). We've had a note purportedly from Rome forwarded to us, where they explicitly say we are their next target after Portugal. So if that's the case, it behooves us to join in while they are at war with another civ. If that's not the case, it would be nice to hear that from them. If you want to discuss our concerns about their intentions directly with Rome, that's more than fine. Please do not discuss the part about Portugal pressing us to go war, or owing us a Settler.

Confirmation of the French Incident was not taken lightly by our team. We fully and completely view CAN as an alliance of convenience and recognize the need to plan for a post CAN world that includes the possibility of sneak attack by CAN members we don't have NAPs with. We're still sorting through our options internally, but basically we've been trying to setup bi-lateral relations since our war with Sumeria. Ironically, we've had the most success with you and Maya.

Do you have the pre-reqs for Feudalism? Maya is on Metal Casting now, not sure where they are headed next. We really need to get all three teams in a chat, but it will probably have to wait until after the weekend. Darrell is out until next Monday, and based on our diplomacy division he is the front man for communications with your team. This might be the last reply from us until early of next week.

PARTY ON!
