I guess it depends on how much of our stack survives.
Yeah it does so we don't want to make that decision just yet, but you seemed to feel fairly strongly about it.
We have a lot of flatland to get over if we resettle, but it allows us to regroup once more.

Honestly I defer to you in matters pertaining to military and tactics, (as long as you let me micro our cities to grow in 1. ) But yeah, let's wait and see.
I have to run.

Hey, I even did that myself with Janus last turn.
I think with his part-replenished siege stack and gifted knight stack (could be 20 or so?), it's probably too risky to carry on our march without reinforcements.
It's just... which city do we go for next, and which path do we take? We won't be able to control many tiles culturally. An inland route means that he won't be able to whisk away his units by boats afterwards.

Save's in but I'm trapped at work. I want to know the damage!

Well, I was expecting more red in the event log:
For those trapped at work without access to dropbox:
Mackoti did not attack our stack, Rhodes is almost empty, and Mack's naval stack advanced slightly.
I have to run.

Well, I did say that I wasn't sure whether he would abandon. Thinking about it, it would be a bit of a gamble not to have unloaded the boats. He is threatening Callisto but I've already put some extra units in there, and we get another few in by boat, drafting or from Ganymede.
(I've played a bit of the save and popped it in the inbox.)

Except that he can easily unload in Thebes, so he could still have kept them onboard at little risk.

Ok, we conquered Rhodes without losing a unit. It looks like we have to raze, but we can't settle 2E either. Not yet anyway.

So, we razed the city. Too difficult to keep and not much of a city (just a granary left in).
We put our army onto the hill.
We can see 4 grenadiers, 16 knights, 16 cats, plus 24 units on the boats, and maybe 20 gifted knights, all within range. So he would potentially leave his 1-movers exposed. To whatever units we might have left after all that has hit them. I don't think he has enough units to take them all out anyway.
However, he can't unload in Thebes, attack AND whisk them away, even with a fort (he has 7 workers on standby).
We have another plan slightly further north. Our navy will soon combine and number around 30 frigates, 3 privateers and 7-10 galleons. A good spot to sit would be 1NW of Ariel, since we could threaten to land on the hill across the river from Thebes (although he could easily put a grenadier there, I suppose) or threaten invading Argos.
The stack you can see highlighted is what's in Puck now, with our southern galleons having unloaded 12 units - it's being reinforced all the time. Soon Puck and Janus will be at size 6 and drafting like crazy.

Combat log, for reference. The CR2 cannon got 70.6% odds, won, and from then on it was easy.
Builds.
Our army after ending turn. Chunky. Will it stay chunky once mackoti has had a go?
Power - just about staying 1m soldiers ahead. But mackoti's power has certainly jumped a lot in the last couple of turns.
Will we open to lines of red this time? Tune in next time!
Incidentally, I spotted a trebuchet of Yuri near our borders. Threatening to do it the slow way, eh. That's the only siege I've seen, though. Maybe he's just trying to tie up some units and slow us down.
