We need to formulate a reply to DIM. Otherwise they might assume we are ignoring them. This is my first draft.

So Hernan has "apparently" spent a long time flexing in the mirror? You should see Conan, he rarely ever leaves the mirror. In fact, he managed to get expelled from our glorious capital and was ordered to scout the nearby terrain as punishment for hogging the mirror.

Your agreement to share info on other civilizations has been noted. We hope that this is a good start to friendly long term relations. We also have met no-one else in this world apart from yourselves.

Our initial inquiry about NAP's was to find out your opinion on them as some players/teams may not favor them. If we do manage a NAP, we can agree along the lines of no aggressive settlements. However, we might disagree if a location is aggressive or not so we will need more info on our surroundings before we can comply.

One other thing that I had in mind was asking for tech trades. True it is early but better than being locked out of the group (should one form).

Incidentally, we can't wait for everyone's opinion on movement. We were last to move 2 times in a row. From a screenshot 2 turns ago:



We are currently on the horse tile. I say that we can probably afford to go SE onto the forest before moving SW again. Then just move SW and NW to ensure we reveal all the tiles between where we explore and our capital's expanded borders (on T26).

Well I did wait to see if you guys would come online, but we ended up being the last in the turn sequence again. We did vote for a 24 hour turn time though, so we should be allowed a full use of that time if we needed it.

However in this case I felt we didn't. In this instance I agree with ad hoc and I do feel we should now play a more cautious movement game with Conan and stick to defensive terrain where ever possible, so I moved him SE. It also reveals more of the Fog.

What did he reveal, well ....



For starters, look what we have here. Team DIM have a warrior. Tricky Dick. Perhaps we should now amend our message to them to include something about him? I hope I am stating the obvious here, but they must be somewhere close to the East of Conan (possibly North or South East) as I can't imagine them to be scouting to far away from home with their first warrior as they already have a scout to do the exploring.

And to justify our movement SE onto the forest this turn even more, we were attacked by a Barb Wolf out of the fog from the West / South West



Conan came out of this attack unscathed I have to admit I had the scare of my life at first as the attack appeared whilst I was in game and my first thought was Tricky Dick had, had a go at us as Meatballz logged into the game also, until I saw a glimpse of Conan striking down the Wolf.

Where do you want to go next move. I suggest South and then we stick to the forests and head back West. Do you agree?

Major difference here is that we have grown to size 2, and that reflects in our standings.

Also we have the demographics for DIM now . Of course, they also (probably) have info on us too.

Anyway, seems they built the warrior before size 2, then after growing to size 2 are using max production to get the worker out ASAP.

So ad hoc managed to get onto a chat with Ilios of DIM (yes i'm posting about ad hoc's chats, we all use the main team account anyway). Not much spoken but one line IMO is of some concern.

Upon re-reading it does seem a bit like it just agrees with what DIM last sent us and not adding much to our long term relations. On the other hand, do they expect us to be committal on T19? Then again, an ally on one front couldn't hurt since it allows us to focus in the other direction.

What should we do? Should we make DIM friendly and focus in the other direction(s)? I think we should, always better to have a flank covered.

Here is a (very) rough first draft should we make them friendly. I put the NAP discussion, aggressive settlement and possible tech trades in. Let me know if you don't agree with something or have opinions otherwise.

We apologize if the previous message sounded a bit off. We are still trying to get used to the diplomatic side of things here. Conan is really struggling cause all he wants to do is flex.

We can agree to a NAP under the following conditions:

NAP until at least turn 50
There is a 10-turn cancellation period after canceling (i.e. if canceled on T50, neither side can declare war until the beginning of T60)

Regarding your no aggressive settlement agreement, we unfortunately do not know where your capital is nor what lands are in between us. However, there is a possible solution. Since screenshots can be traded before paper, maybe we can settle this using screenshots? Let us know of your opinions of trading screenshots.

Also, are you interested in some tech trades when someone reaches alphabet? If so what is your general tech direction? We are interested in going for math because it unlocks our UB.
