I played the turn. Scouting revealed a little bit more, still no new contacts though. I decided to put the 2T before Greenland grows into a Barracks. I also renamed Blue to Vinland, which was the 2nd Viking settlement in the New World, if I recall correctly.

Plako has horses much closer to home than we do, so that far north Horse tile is definitely "our" source. Not much else to say.

Played the turn. We've met Adlain in the west, but his borders are not on the same line as the rest. Could it mean there is a bend in the land?
Guess it does mean that all civ's are on the same landmass.

Had a chat with Plako about the map and how it was shaped and we agreed to share once we have more info. His scout that is close our Adlain is his only scouting unit. He did mention water east of Warlord. Guess we'll have to see.

Locke asks us to swap EP's after graphs. I think we should agree...

No interesting news on the scouting part. Worker 1 moved N to get a road towards Vinland. Worker 2 should road the hill once the mine is done to get a road connection.

Vinland is an area more than a settlement, though consistent with Greenland as it also an area that had multiple settlements. If you wish to go with New World Lands, you could add Markland (forests) and Helluland (stones) which did not have settlements.

Played another turn. Greenland grew to size 4, swapped to Settler (6t).
And we're scouting, scouting, scouting... nothing else, nothing new, nothing interesting.

Another scouting turn. Warlord is indeed east of Plako. Haven't found Moogle yet, but I'm moving E and W first.

Where do we settle our third city? Settler will be done in 4t.

I'll take a longer look at where to settle next tomorrow. Just posting to remind us to switch EP off Locke next turn, probably to Adlain.

Also, sheesh, I should really read the email more often. I've kind of let myself get lulled to sleep at how slow the beginning of this game is going. Keep telling myself, plenty of time, etc. And now I see plako is in a real war with Warlord this time. Can't wait to see how that came about. Plako doesn't strike me as an early rush kind of guy. Hopefully we can parlay some friendliness here into a favorable settling arrangement in the north. I wish we had eyes on the fogged area west of our capital, might be worth knowing if we should/could settle that way first.

I had a chat with Plako and think he'll be in a long sluggish war, that should give us enough options to REX any way we want.
The warrior from Finland will start scouting south to get that black spot mapped out.

I think we're probably the civ with the most scouting units out and the most map knowledge so far...
