I thought about it, but a) in BtS the combat log tells all, b) I want him to be warrior I'll send the axe towards him. If he's close I'd like him to make his own axe and sit it at home or something similar...

Heh. If you really wanted to play mind games, you'd have renamed the Axe to "War Chariot" (both strength 5), and publicly moaned in the public thread about a lack of "critical military resources".

I probably should have, but I assume even with my level of micro in a game this slow people would figure it out. Remember, the combat log isn't the event log. It will show a nice 50% bonus versus melee that's hard to reconcile with a "war chariot's" stats

Even if 80% of people would actually check the combat log, it's worth it for the 20% who don't. And 80% is pretty generous.

To whip or not to whip...

Pros for whipping:

*City planted sooner->more developed later.
*IMP hammer bonus.
*Will be able to plant the turn after the settler appears, with road and defenders in place.
*Will be able to work an improved tile at pop1.
*Cap will grow back quickly.

Cons for whipping:

*For two turns gold and either cow/copper tile not worked.
*For another turn or two gold tile not worked.
