Diplo with Gillette

I wonder if while we're at it, we should reopen communications with the other teams, especially Gillette, as we have some unfinished negotiations with them.

I actually already had a gmail chat with scooter a couple days ago. They're working up a map on their own for what they would like to propose, and then we'll review that to see what we like or don't like about it. He's also away this weekend, but I told him there's no rush on it. We have time for our negotiations.

I just spoke with scooter, and he said he's not really doing anything for this game anymore. So I think I'll try to make up a new image for building a border and send it to their mailbox for renewed negotiations.
I've already logged out of the game and won't have time again until late tonight (if that). If you log in, can you take a scrolled out screenshot centered around the mountains? Minimize the interface screen (Ctrl-I) so that only the map shows. And then either email me the screenshot, or post it here? I'll then edit it with a possible border.

Gillette,
It has now been over a month and a half since we had started negotiations with Scooter. We realize that with how close we are to each other, we need to pick up negotiations so that we can more solidly come to an agreement that works for us both. To start with, it would be a good idea to set up a NAP so that we do not have to worry about aggressions from each other and can develop for awhile with some sense of peace. Maybe something until T100 or T110 sounds like the best idea to us.
Looking forward to returning to discussions with your team.

If we can get them to sign the NAP before they realize exactly where we've settled our city, that would be good. I already know they are going to be quite pissed about it, since it kinda blocks them off from the center of the map. And that's something they were arguing about before when we were trying to form a border line.

Oops, I forgot about that last bit. About the message, I'd say it's good except the first sentience sounds just a touch accusatory. Maybe something like "Hey, it's been a while since we heard from you" instead? Other than that, I'd say send it.

Yeah, things have been a bit slow for us for a while, but we'd be pleased to confirm a NAP with you. Turn 100 will be good. I assume all the 'spirit of the NAP' things such as no spy missions or aiding enemies apply?

Also, do you feel that Open Borders would be helpful for trade at this point? Preferably with a no scouting clause.

So confirming the whole first part with them is a definite "go". I'm going to send a quick chat to plako to let him know that they're aggreeing to our T100 NAP and that they'd also like to do Open Borders for trade routes. Let him know that we're probably going to do the OB with them, since we can't get trade routes with his team yet due to no roads or water routes available. So we need the OB with Gillette for now. Have to tell plako this, since we agreed to share specific details of each of our negotiations with Gillette.
