Used my last ace in the hole and casted Peace and forced DaveV's units out of my territory. He is putting quite a bit of pressure even without summons or Haste. It is highly annoying that you can't pillage roads on your own territory.
get life mana, get life 2 on your mages. Enoug of casts can outright kill undead troops.

Life II would be good idea. Had already forget about that. I took Necromancy now though and next it is time to collect gold for upgrades and then I think Deception (Gibbon) would be the next target, but I'm not in a hurry to decide.

I remember how much I hated Gibbon's summons in the Pitboss...not being able to touch a stack is horrible.
Not sure if it fits your current situation, of course.

Some trouble approaching. Warrior defense is the name of the game. Game over if I can't kill these stacks.

Lost probably 3 cities on DaveV's turn. Not sure I can recover, but can't help thinking how to continue fighting. Does anybody know, if Wither effects to Vampires.

Vampires are living units, so it should.

DaveV razed 3 cities and is apparently satisfied for this until the Magic block goes away. Game is probably over, but I'll see where this goes for a few more turns. At least Ichabod has a quite nice GNP. Not sure what he can reach before Spectre onslaught begins.

I'm ready to concede, so if you see the same in Ichabod's thread feel free to say it so we can wrap this up. My last chance is to ask lots of gold from Ichabod, even if it feels a bit phony. Ichabod would be basically handing me the keys of victory I really wouldn't deserve, if I needed that gold (and it is by no means certain I could win even with all his gold in my pocket). Nevertheless I'll ask next turn and see, if I could do some damage before my world spell wears out. If I don't get the gold, I really can't handle the Spectres in numbers DaveV could be producing them. Maybe Ichabod has a plan .

I absolutely don't get why Spectres have been un-nerfed. Surely there has to be a way to make them playable without being overpowered?

Well, nerfing Spectres would make the poor Sheaim even weaker then they already are.
Unfortunately, Sheaim Mages summoning spectres is one thing, and Raider Vampires summoning them is another.
