[SPOILERS] Thoth and Mardoc Pretend Piracy Pays as Pacal of Portugal

Lavendar build micro:

Found t34.

t34: Work Sheep. Start granary. Worker to Deer
t35: Start Deer camp. Polytheism due eot if I go for Hinduism.
t38: Deer camp done. Davros works Sheep instead of 2nd cottage.
t40: Cottage completes 7 of Lavendar or start chop #2
t41: Growth to size 2 at eot. gran 56/60
t42: Work Sheep and Deer. Granary completes eot.
t43: If we landed Hinduism, build workboat next. If not, build monument. Then WB at size 3 (growth at eot 47). Grow to 4 on warrior/Pier. Then whip settler.

Poly will take 5 turns, finishing eot 35. 4t should be enough to finish up Masonry in time to start chopping on t40. Then pick up Mining/Bronze/Writing/Sailing

T31 done.

No sign of any more 2nd cities yet. Hinduism still up for grabs. It's showing as 6 turns but I'm 99% certain I can shave a turn off that via 2nd city and cottage growth.

There is another seafood 2 tiles due south of the gold. It can only be worked by a city settled 1 south of the gold. This probably won't happen.

And Poly will take a turn longer than planned. I hadn't realized that it does not have an arrow pre-req anymore so I'm not getting any pre-req bonus. frown

Mardoc: I'm thinking of moving the second city 1 tile north, like this:

We pick up a 2 hammer city site and the gems (IW is a priority). It loses the fish and moves the Deer to second ring. The Deer isn't that big of a deal so long as we manage Hinduism. Losing the Fish costs us down the road, but we'd need to spend 25 foodhammers on the (reusable) Workboat + 20 hammers on the Pier and beakers on Sailing (+1 Food from Nets) in order to make the Fish good.

hmmm.....thinking out loud...

If Lavender settles on Cyan dot and builds worker/gran/units/settler
t33 move to PH.
t34: Settle and work Sheep. +3 food and 4*1.35 hammers--> 8 foodhammers/turn.
Worker done eot 41. 4 overflow-->3 hammers overflow. If we get Hindu, then the Deer camp can be completed t41 provided Hodor moves onto the Deer t37. Hodor finish cottage t33,34,35. Move to forest t 36. Deer 37. Camp 38,39,40,41 (done). Move to forest t42. Chop 43, 44,45.
t42: Start Gran working Deer. +3 Food, + (5+3) *2=16 hammers into gran. Size 2 eot49. Chop into gran needs to complete on or before t45 as the gran will require 4 turns to fill at +3 food. New worker moves to chop for Davros (3 chops into settler t45/46 = settler eot 46 + overflow)

I think I like that: 4 workers, 2 cities, 2 grans, 1 pier, a settler, an Archer and 3 warriors eot 46. Only 5 pop but that increases rapidly ~t48 or so. Should have another settler by 53 and another by 58. smile

t33: Plako joined the 2 city club and Krill joined the whipping club with a 2 pop whip.

I'll be joining the 2 city club next turn:

frown I can't figure out whether I like your moving the 2nd city or not. My gut says that seafood isn't a huge investment and more food is good, but this is so different I don't know I can trust my gut.

So, um, no comment. Because I don't know what to say.

Yeah. I'm not convinced it's a good idea either.

But that Fish is a 2f/1h tile with net (25 foodhammers for the reusable WB). 3/1 with Sailing. In order to be good, we'd need another 20h for the pier. 5/1 is a nice tile but it's a big investment right now. As things stand, I'll be spending that production on a Worker instead. The WB to net the fish will likely be built in Lavender eventually but not until after a settler.

Moving also gets the Gems into play in reasonable time and gives a bit more dotmap flexibility in the north east.

None of which changes the fact that Lavender is the shittiest 2nd city I've founded in a very long time. frown

t34: I'm the 4th to a second city. I expect Krill's second city to get founded next turn. Based on revealed tiles, he'll have (dry) Corn first ring and tundra silver second as an option for his 1st expansion city assuming he goes for the close option

I ain't go no 5 food tiles to expand onto:

The Deer is tundra/hill. The (far away) Wheat is dry. The Bananas are jungle choked and require Calendar as well. The pigs are jungle choked and hella far away.

t36: Krill's scout showed up on my borders and I'll have at least a die roll for Hinuism. jive

QBrick made a 1 pop whip last turn. I'll make my second 2 pop whip next turn. whip whip

my official demographics are going to suck for the next little while. but 100 hammers worth of whips and 100 hammers worth of chops make up for a bit of saggy demos
